I currently have in 50 dt, w/LR, LS, sump and PS:
2 Ocellaris clowns
1 green mandrin
1 lubbocki fairy wrass
3 pajama cardinals
1 cleaner shrimp
1 peppermint shrimp
1 emerald crab
Snail CUC
Looking at:
1 Yellow watchmen goby
1 red brittle starfish
1 RBTA
My concern is the brittle starfish. Is caution needed?

I purchased this tank used a month ago. I kept the live sand, water, and live rock so that I wouldn't be starting from scratch. I also added a few more pieces of LR, so I have around 20 pounds. I also swapped the bioballs for rubble and cheato. At night I have a light on the cheato. salinity is around 1.023 rest of the readings have all been great. It came with a 24w 10k and a 24w actinic as well as 2 moon lights and a computer fan. It also has a protein skimmer in the far right compartment that is connected to an outside pump. The fuge is in the middle compartment, and the pump/filter/heater are in the far left compartment. I don't what brand of skimmer because I bought it used and forgot to ask.
The tank maintains its temperature at 80 to 82. I know that is warm, but I don't have the time or the know how to install another fan at this moment. I teach and can possibly do this over Christmas break. Last night, I stuck the cap from my water jug in the feeding lid to prop it open.
I do a 2 gallon water change with ready made water from my LFS. I'm fortunate to have a very good mom and pop store nearby.
Livestock:
1 false percula 1 inch - new addition last night
1 mandarin - bought it a couple of days after I bought tank - I know, I know, but there were pods in the tank and I added more to the fuge. He also eats frozen bring and mysis (I watch him eat).
1 peppermint shrimp
1 turbo - totally cleaned the glass and back wall
1 tiger trochus
1 mirco red leg hermit
2 micro blue leg hermits

2 nac? snail
corals bought last night:
5 frags total
1 xenia
4 other pieces of soft (forgot to write down names)
question:
I would like to get another fish or two (max 2).
Possibles: cleaner goby, 2nd false percula, firefish, royal gramma, clown goby, or ?
2nd question: clown is acting stressed. Swimming too fast up and down sides. Temperature:
Also, I keep reading about all of the mods to lights, pumps, etc. Do I need to do them? I haven't been turning on the moon lights. Should I? I've been running the blue light for 12 hours per day and the white one for 8.

I'm sitting on a 90 gallon tank. It got an open scape with a pretty small ammount of rock. The only fish I have is a sixline wrasse. I understand that it will limit my future stocking options, especially since I added the wrasse first. But I really like him and I did take on the responsibility, so he'll stay.
The thing is that I suspect he might be a pretty agressive individual, even for a sixline. I had five peppermint shrimp before I added the wrasse. The first few weeks it was OK, but the wrasse has since grown. Now he can't even tolerate the shrimp and attacks on sight. My guess is he's already killed two of them...
With that in mind, how would I go forward? Should I be looking at other agressive fish that could stand up to the sixline or go for more peaceful species that are not pod eaters?
What I've been considering is a Zebrasoma flavescens and a pair of Black & White Ocellaris Clownfish. But that is just fish that have caught my eye and I'm totally open to adapt completely. Mostly interested in knowing what kind of fish I should be looking at.

I personally do not find tanks relaxing with aggressive behavior causing tension within the population. Any zebrasoma tang is aggressive and must be the last fish added; in your case, a zebrasoma is marginal for your tank size. It will definitely reduce stocking plans going forward.
Right. I agree it would be nice to reduce the aggressive behavior to a minimum. Just not sure the sixline agrees. :lmao:
Any recommendations on fish to look at or will it simply have to be a one fish aquarium? The focus is on corals anyway but it's nice to have something swimming around.

While I do not answer these types of questions on this thread because of its narrow focus, I often get questions about how to remove six line wrasses, which is not easy. It will not attack all other fish, but it will definitely limit what you can put in your tank.
I am considering the purchase of a lawnmower blenny and have concerns with feeding while it is in my quarantine tank. Since algae is not abundant in my qt I am afraid it will not make the 6 weeks of observation without starving.
Do prepackaged foods meet the blenny's dietary requirements? Are ther any particular ingredients in food that I should be looking for? Is there any foods available you found to be more appealing than others, that could be offered during this time?

There are various herbivore prepared foods available. Note that this fish does nip at clam mantles and the fins of some tank mates.

Do you rate compatibility with corals and anemones snorvich? Just wanted to know before I bother looking up different ones.
