What is this? It was supposed to be a purple dottyback. Looks more like a wrasse. In real life it's purple and yellow/orange.

Sorry it's a Iphone 4 camera

Sorry the subject of this thread is Marine Fish Compatibility. Perhaps a separate thread in reef fish would get answers.

So I got a red leg hermit, already had a yellow clown goby, and an eagle eye zoa.

Are there any other hermits I can or can't keep with the above? Not sure how many hermits/shrimp I'd need for this size tank but I'm pretty sure it's more than one.

Can anyone tell me which shrimp would go with what I have as well?

I was thinking about:

Peppermint
Coral Banded
Candy Stripe
Sexy
Or Tiger Pistol (Too big, needs a certain type of goby?)

This thread is only about marine fish compatibility. For answers to this type of question, start your own thread in New to the Hobby. (provide tank size and other inhabitants for best answers)

So it's not about inverts and their compatibility with my fish?

No, only marine fish compatibility. I answered a question slightly off topic in the preceding posts but then asked him to start a separate thread as I did you.

Ok thanks.

Final fish wish list:
2 Blue Damsels (Initial) hopefully not using them to cycle the tank
1 Maroon and gold Clown the damsels and clownfish will determine what else can go in the tank as they are very aggressive
1 Royal Gramma
2 fire fish not with the aggressive fish above; in any case, only one firefish unless it is part of a bonded male/female pair
-----------
I would also love to run a flame angel or a six line wrasse but doubt ill have room. flame angels require a larger tank, six line wrasses are super aggressive towards fish on your plan

Thanks!!!!

Looking to finish stocking my 75 gal....(48x19x22)
20 gal sump, reef octopus skimmer , 80# LR, 80#sand & a few corals.
The tank is approx. 3 1/2 mo. old...parameters holding steady with weekly water changes of 10%. Tank is fed twice a day plus Nori on a clip.

The existing tenants are:
pair of Black/White Ocellaris Clowns
BiColor Blenny
One Spot Foxface
Flame Angel
Yellow Watchman Goby
cleaner shrimp
Looking to add :
a bonded pair tank bred Kaudern's Cardinals (pterapogon kauderni )
and either a Axil Hogfish ( bodianus axillaris )
or a Diamond Watchman Goby ( valencienna puellaris )
not sure is the Hogfish will get to big with the One Spot in there, or if the goby wouldn't work because of the blenny and ywg

8-foot 200 gallon tank.

Kole Tang
Yellow Tang
Regal Tang
Harlequin Tusk
Foxface
Axilspot Hogfish
Melanurus Wrasse
Vagabond Butterflyfish
Flame Hawkfish
Chalk Bass
Royal Gramma

I assume my fish selection precludes any sort of CUC or invertebrates.

Snorvich I know you dont like vague questions so I will try to be detailed as possible:

Current tank info: 58 gallon 36"x18x21 mixed reef, 20 gallon sump:
2 ocelarris clowns
1 Blue sided fairy wrasse
1 Lawnmower blenny
1 peppermint shrimp
All seem to be doing great, however the tank looks empty and I'd like a few more fish. I know I cant get a tang, and I am afraid of getting a small angel in fear of it nipping my LPS or zoas.

I havent looked deep into the exact fish I want but generally would like
-1 One spot foxface
-Another wrasse(I see other stocking plans on here with multiple wrasses, so would it be okay to add another as long as its not a flasher/fairy wrasse?)
-Another blenny or goby(would this be an issue with the current LM blenny?)

a bonded pair tank bred Kaudern's Cardinals (pterapogon kauderni ) no problem
and either a Axil Hogfish ( bodianus axillaris ) should be fine but not shrimp safe
or a Diamond Watchman Goby ( valencienna puellaris ) only one commensal goby shrimp pair in a small/medium sized tank
not sure is the Hogfish will get to big with the One Spot in there, or if the goby wouldn't work because of the blenny and ywg

Yellow Tang be sure this is last
Regal Tang will get aggressive when mature

Foxface
Axilspot Hogfish
Melanurus Wrasse

Chalk Bass
Royal Gramma

-1 One spot foxface needs a larger tank especially with a blenny in the mix
-Another wrasse(I see other stocking plans on here with multiple wrasses, so would it be okay to add another as long as its not a flasher/fairy wrasse?) well you really need a bit larger tank for the fairy wrasse above; I would look at chalk bass or pygmy wrasses
-Another blenny or goby(would this be an issue with the current LM blenny?) Yes, that would not work

I currently have 1 firefish in my biocube29. I am looking to add a pair of clowns and a pajama cardinal. Any issues with this mix?
