Greetings Reefers! Many thanks to the experienced reefers for taking the time to review my stocking list.

I have a 120 gallon sps system with a 30 gallon sump -- 180 lbs of LR. 60x turnover. It cycled for 6 months without fish in order to build up the massive pod population necessary for a mandarin.

Current Livestock:
Mandarin Dragonet (accepting frozen Mysis)
Fighting Conch
maybe 10-20 stomatella snails

Planned Livestock:
2 ocellaris clowns
Midas Blenny
Neon Goby
Chalk Bass
Maxima Clam
Tiger Tail cucumber
Feather Dusters

72 gallon bowfront tank with 15 gallon sump and 5 gallon refugium.

Current livestock:
2 cleaner shrimp
frogspawn
rose bud anenome
rainbow sherbet chalice
superman goni
melting pot chalice
pink acro
zoanthid
ricordea & other mushrooms
torch coral
snails
rainbow acan and other acan

Tank is currently fallow, livestock I want to add: If fallow for ich, be sure it is at least 9 weeks
2 oscellaris clown fish
1 mandarin goby
1 cleaner wrasse or 2 neon gobies will not help with parasites; only the african endemic cleaner wrasses seem to live; only one neon goby unless a bonded pair
1 niger triggerfish or black triggerfish needs a much larger tank; not invert safe
1 coral beauty or some sort of angelfish
1 saddle pufferfish
1 moorish idol expert only, needs larger tank
1 urchin
1 clam

Thanks in advance for the review of the stock list

all are fine and reef safe

My tank will be a 29 gallon FOWLR and a sump
In my original stock list I had a Royal Gramma could I get a Six Line Wrasse instead? The rest of the list is this
Bi Color Blenny
3xCardnial Fish
2xFire Shrimp
Again Thank you very much for you time and knowledge!

No, a six line wrasse is very aggressive and will be a royal PITA.

hey Steve trying to keep my tank peaceful.
75 gal. 80#LR, 80#sand , sump
currant tank mates:
One Spot Foxface
pair Ocellaris Clowns
Pair Kaudern Cardinals
Yellow watchman goby
BiColor Blenny
Tomini Tang in QT
My blenny is always attacking the YWG and he nips at my corals. I want to banish him to the LFS and replace him with something that doesn't mess with my YWG.
I was thinking of a Royal Gramma, fire fish, diamond goby or a tail spot blenny. The YWG was my first fish and I'm not liking him getting his butt kicked all the time and having to hide........lol
A little help is needed here

125 tank with sump. Looking to start my fish stocking list. I have my clean up crew and some corals in the tank along with two black and white clowns that I moved from my 12gal nano.

Looking at the list below for now. Let me know what you think. I hope to just add a few at a time and be able to use my 12gal nano to monitor them before putting them in the 125. The only thing in the 12gal is a little live rock and a few crabs and snails since I moved the clowns the other day.

Firefish - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...168&pcatid=168

Royal Gramma - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...6+53&pcatid=53

Six line wrasse - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...375&pcatid=375

Yellow Tang - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...392&pcatid=392

Zebra Barred Dartfish - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+1926+150&pcatid=150

Marandin later after tank is more established.

Any other fish that you suggest?

Thanks

75 Gal with sump and Fuge (36x18x21 sump)

1 Ocellaris Clownfish -juvenile
1 Anthias Carberryi or Bartletts Anthias
2 McCoskers Flasher Wrasse (1 Pair)
1 Royal Gramma
1 Blue Sapphire Dameselfish
1 Agile Chromis
1 Green Goby
1 Gold Assessor
1 Yellow Tang
1 Green Mandarin (at least 9 months est tank)

Corals so need to be reef safe with CUC and shrimp.

This is intended stock list by no means in the tank.

Seems this might be quite the bio load but wanted to check your thoughts.

except as annotated, should be fine

Hello RC, new to be to the Hobby:
plan to have a 40 gallon breeder with a sump(Ruby 30s) live sand/Dry rock.
so many good fish to have but i know in 40g is limited, do you have a standard list of fishes for a beginners. if was up to me i would want them all, j/k. thanks

As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons, the most important of which is that I want you to learn to research. Once you come up with a plan, I would love to review it for compatibility.

Six line wrasse - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...375&pcatid=375 this is the only one I would recommend against; they can be a PITA and limit other choices due to their aggressive nature

Yellow Tang - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...392&pcatid=392

Zebra Barred Dartfish - http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+1926+150&pcatid=150

you have room for some other compatible fish and I would be happy to review a revised list

Thanks

1 Yellow Tang this fish will be cramped in this sized tank

you have some jumpers so a mesh top is advised; except as annotated, should be fine

Without the Yellow Tang could I add 1 or a pair of Lubbocks Fairy Wrasse in its place or will that cause a problem with already having a wrasse pair? Last thing, is my list ok with stocking order or should it be changed with what goes in first? Thank you for your time and all you do to help everyone out with your expertise.

A pair of Lubbock's is doable but be sure to use a social acclimation box. Order is fine but if you do Lubbock's introduce them next to last.

When did this become the policy? Below is a quote from the original post.

It has been that way for about 4 years.

This^. While the original intent was conversation it's long turned in a Q & A with only one person providing the answers to the best of his knowledge. I have posted as much in this thread. There was simply too much arguing and clutter otherwise.

This^. While the original intent was conversation it's long turned in a Q & A with only one person providing the answers to the best of his knowledge. I have posted as much in this thread. There was simply too much arguing and clutter otherwise.

Since thee are nearly 400 pages to this thread and I highly doubt if anyone goes through all of them before posting. Even though the above is the current policy it should be clearly and prominantly stated at the very begining of the thread.

With just one person answering the threads it ceases to become an open forum, which people should expect at reef central and really would be more appropriately located with the blogs.

Nearly all of the advice is good, but when there is a querry on livestock that could be ok or nixed there is no appropriate way to easily let someone know of a dissenting thought.

By only having one person answer it also stunts the educational growth of the person asking. And while I have not gone back and looked at the clutter and disagreement, as long as dissention is not aggressive and personal is part of that process.

The ideal opening of this thread would clearly state that these are the answers of one person and if they would like the thoughts of other reefers they should start a new thread in the reef fish forum.
