Please ID my anemones

I brought an anemones 12 mths ago. And now I got 7 of them sitting my old 120ltr (30G) tank. The last one was splitted 4 month ago.

Now I got a new 450 ltr (100G) new tank and I afraid that they are pest anemones so I decided to leave them there until I know more about them.

Could some please help me to identify them? Thanks

they look like BTA's to me.. look a little light in color as well. how often/ what are you feeding? they are not pest anemones but some varities tend to split more often(i had one variety that split every few months, and i had one that split only once over two years).. but they also may be splitting due to stress..

When I got the first one, I fed shrimp and frozen marine seafood once a week.

After they split so many I stopped feeding. They just get the left over from the brine shrimp I feed the fish.

They are BTA's. The variegated variety has been refered to as "vietnamese" BTA's, though whether they come from vietnam or not is anyone's guess. Though yours are small I have seen this particular variety get quite large, with oral disks 1' across. The ones that I had experience with were quite prolific splitters; they soon dominated a 200 gallon tank.

Thanks for the info guys.

Do you think I should move them to the large tank?

The only thing I afraid of is it will split again and take over corals.

Otherwise I may just sell it back to my LFS.

I have got the exact same one, arrived as a hitchhicker and as double its size in under a year. So far it hasnt split. i am feeding mine once a week but after having read your comments, I will stop feeding as I dont want it to split.

If you want to get rid of a few, suggest to sell back to LFS. I think they are quite pretty and someone else might like them
