My tank is only 100g size and it is a zoa tank. I have an over population amphiods and need to find a zoa safe fish to help reducing amphiods numbers. Currently i have a clown fish and a kole tang only. I read that six line is a very aggressive fish so not keen on it. What fish would you guys recommend please?

Yellow Coris Wrasse, Radiant Wrasse, Mystery Wrasse. There are many different kind of wrasses that eat pods

I think 6 lines get a bad rap. They are some of my favorite fish. I've had 2 over the years and they were both very peaceful

I've never had any problems with 6 lines either, not sure if that is pure luck though because I have heard plenty of stories about them on here!

6 lines are monsters. For every instance of a "well behaved " there are more bad experiences. There are many other, more peaceful choices for fish that eat amphipods.

I would vote for both the Blue Star Leopard(if you have a decent sand bed), and the Red Velvet Wrasses. The six line I had wasn't a good neighbor, so I think they're hit or miss.

Macropharyngodon species are a good choice. The red velvet wrasse, Cirrhilabrus rubrisquamis, will not pick that many pods off of the rocks and substrate as they prefer to eat from the water column.

Depending on the species and size of the Isopods I don't think mandarins & Co. will be effective. I have a pair of mandarins and my isopods are doing just fine in the gravel layer.

A wrasse may be the better choice, one of those that will turn over rocks and snoop in the gravel (I remember my Coris doing that).

Sixlines don't do that.
As for them being bad - I had several pairs of them and never too much trouble with them besides them killing my mandarins (eliminating the competition) and them jumping out when spawning.

I've had 3 six lines and all of them were model citizens. Plus I haven't been able to find a pod in my tank since I added my most recent one in my 40b, and he is constantly fat as all hell.

a pair of yellow corris wrasse will take care of a lot of pests in the tank. pods, starfish, flatworms, nudi, etc..
