Pooky's 300

Thanks Leonardo! I have not seen them pick at any corals, or aiptasia for that matter. I just know that I had a lot of them and then one day, after not paying attention for over 2 months, I noticed all but a handful were gone. The angels probably got some aiptasia but there were some that the angels definitely couldn't get to. I tend to feed pretty heavy so that may explain why none of the so call coral nippers have touched anything yet :)

Very nice filefish Kenny! I will be interested how it does with corals long term.

These eat Aptasia??? Wow, I've always found them interesting but didn't know they were reef safe. I'd be interested to hear how he does for you in the long term too. I've got some Aptasia that keep coming back and are now multiplying too fast for me...

They won't win any beauty contests but I think they are some of the coolest fish around. The patterns on their body changes constantly. And they are probably responsible, at least in part, for taking care of the aiptasia in the tank :)

Me too. I've had them for over 3 months now and haven't had any problems with them and corals. They are well fed every day. I guess we'll find out when we go on vacation and see if they go postal in our absence :blown:

Well, at least they are described as aiptasia eating bristletail filefish :) Like I said earlier, I haven't actually seen them or any other fish take a bite. But the fact that most have disappeared tells me that someone is eating them. They are cool fish to look at for sure. As far as I could tell, they are reef safe for NOW. It might be worth a try. If they start to develop a taste for corals, you can always pull them out. They were pretty easy to catch.

The last bartlett's hanging on. After watching her comrades being caught one by one, she's smart enough to know not to come anywhere near the trap  Without her support group, she mostly hangs out near a cave nowadays. I guess she's staying for now until I get out the hook :blown:

Cool Kenny,

Thanks for the response... I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for one at my LFS!

Why did you remove all the bartlett's?

I just thought it was time for a change. When they become available again, I want to try a large group of P. flavoguttatus. Or I may even get more adventurous and try some P. hawaiiensis or P. ventralis :D

Woo-hoo! The Bandit makes an apperance, very nice!

I gravel vac every water change too Kenny, about 25% of the substrate, and move on to the next portion the next water change. Keeps it nice and clean

Thanks Austin :) She's quite flighty and races around the tank no stop all day and night. Pleasantly surprised I actually got one semi-decent pic of her.

Yeah, that's what I am planning to do with the sand bed also with each water change. Whatever doesn't get vacuumed will wait until the next round.

Wow, that was the longest thread I've read/browsed in my life! Congratulations... sorry... congratulations, and good to hear! Good stuff Kenny. Thanks.

Tony

How's this guy do for you in your tank Kenny? They have one here locally at Aquatouch I just saw the other day, looks very good!

Aquatouch just became a new RC sponsor/vendor here. I've been fortunate to be local to them and can say they are a great resource for quality fish, coral and inverts! Been doing business with them for over a decade now.

No, I don't work for them either just thought I'd give you fish lovers (Kenny) in particular a heads up on another good place to score some quality fish from!
