Potters and Flame?

I know it probably wont work but I was hoping someone has had some success keeping a Flame and Potters Angel in a smaller tank (30 cube). Anyone? Or any two Centropyge for that matter? TIA

I have two that chase one another frequently in a 180. They would kill probably eachother in a smaller tank.

I think that is much too small of a tank to try it. I am scared to do it in my 550

I have kept pairs in smaller, but you need to be very able to pull one out if it goes pear shaped. I would not try it if one of the fish was established.

Got any pics or thread on your 550? I'd like to see!

I had a Potter's and a Bi-Color. The Potter's would chase the Bi-Color when it wanted to. No serious damage. But this was in a 90g and then a 150g. Your tank is too small to try 2 dwarfs.

Cancel that. I DO NOT want or care to see pics from the anal tang pig.

Wow, that is a pretty poor choice of words to make to a Mod. And I have been reading his threads in this section, and I agree with each comment --- suppose you want to make a personal attack against me too.

i have 4 dwarf angels, Black Nox, Coral Beauty, Flame & Singapore, in my 90g
so far so good, will add another 2-3 soon

good luck

Please reconsider. When you are in the hobby longer than a year, you will find that stocking practices such as yours only lead to heartache for you and the fish.

When Bob Fenner, Scott Michael, and other experts recommend against mixing dwarf angel species in smaller tanks, it is advice that is worth listening to.

Here is an article for your perusal:

Solitaryensis, I would only try one or the other, or possibly a pair. If you pair up in QT prior to introducing into your DT IME you'll be OK. Be prepared to seperate if necessary though. Obviously stick with the smallest of the Centropyge genus.

Hey what are you doing out here?

I just got a PM from a new member asking me about placing two angels in a 90g. (before I was directed to this thread ;) ) I advised him against it. Glad to see confirmation from more experienced reefers. ;)

There is no way they could get through you. ;)

Most of the Morphine withdrawals are gone, just need to get my sleep back to normal.

The most dwarfs I would consider for a 90/75 would be 2, and then it would depend on which ones. I have kept a pair of Potter's before, but lost them to a pump failure while in the hospital.
