Pump seperates but doesn't stop

Hello,
While trying to fine tune my pumps with the new WWD's, discovered that the motor no longer stops when the wet/dry side seperates. Motor just keeps on spinning......which could be problematic. Is this by design or a serious oversight in the code.

Cheers,

The MP40w pumps do not have the de-couple shut off protection anymore. This feature was the source of more false stalls than anything else.

If we are able to get this shut-off protection to work as well as it should work (which means better than last time), then we will start implementing it again.

if you do, will that be something we can upgrade ourselves via firmware change? (I doubt it, since I don't see any place where new code could be loaded, but just checking)

Hi Kengar-

The drivers are capable of being re-flashed wirelessly. In the future we plan to have a special feature where an MP40w pump with new code can wirelessly re-flash another MP40w pump with older code. Alternatively pumps can always be sent in for re-flashing, but we'd like to avoid that whenever possible.

Tim,

You do see the liability aspect in this if the pump de-couples and someone's kid get ahold of the pump and hurts themselves. You had protection in place, disabled said protection w/o due notice to current/future owners of your product. I also now wonder if the over-current feature is still intact or has that been disabled, if the motor overheats will it shut down or will it possibly burn my house down??????

As expressed in the instruction manual for MP40w pumps and the WWD, the overheating protection is still there. We only removed the de-couple protection.

Tim,

I only received the driver return instructions and the WWD setup sheet with my upgrade's. I saw no mention of the de-couple protection being disabled. Thanks for the speedy reply. :)
