Pump vibration

How in the heck do you silence this?

My return pump always ends up vibrating on the side of the sump. Since I recently plumbed a Herbie overflow, this is all I hear now :headwally: Is soft foam safe to place against the sides of the pump underwater to muffle the vibration?

I have some foam similar to something a gardener would use for their knees under my mag 12, no vibrating at all

I grabbed a piece of packing foam and stuck it under my return, works great and in the 2 years sine I put it there I haven't noticed anything that could be a sign of it leeching toxins into the tank.

Mouse pads work well along with a short length of silicone tubing on the pump discharge.

Plastic bag full of sand. Works amazing.

I use silicone hot pads. Using a short (12") section of vinyl tubing to connect from the pump to your PVC helps a lot as well.

i suspended my pump from the hard plumed return line it's dead silent.

I got some of that beady stuff they sell to keep rugs from skidding, folded it to size and put it under the pump.

DONT USE THE POT HOLDER FROM THE KITCHEN!!!!!!!!

I use a golden fleece diaper filled with unicorn tears.

I just used a silicone tube and put small 1/4" beads all along the bottom of the mag 7 pump. Makes no noise at all.
