My H. malu. Purple and carrying eggs. The green on is the male. They spawned once already. I got my timing down and hope to be able to raise some babies next time. My observation indicated that H. malu is a species that reproduce by internal fertilization (like report of S. gigantia). She released the babies at night between 48-60 hrs after spawn. I was not able to save any. They got chew up by the pump

It is not the usual bubble algae. The are formed by tiny little bubbles not one large bubble.Yeap, that looks like bubble algae from my blackberry.

How deep is your sandbed, I know the recommendation of 4". I find that for mine, they seems to be satisfied with 2.5" sandbed, so wondering what everybody's are at?
I tried multiple healthy ones in a barebottom tank without much success long term (~3months). There are also pink ones that are more rare
