Purple crispa

Hey ThRoewer, a sick crispa will inflate/deflate just like a mag. I've experienced this before several times. A healthy but acclimating crispa have the annoying habit of detaching and floating around the tank, so look out for that. I have had good luck lowering flow significantly during this period. Also, something to think about, is a friend of mine had an extremely large crispa for years under 20k lighting. When he switched to a 10k bulb, the anemone significantly perked up in robustness. It's hard to know if it liked the par increase or the spectrum or both, but the change was significant.

Got to AC today and picked up a nice Mag. A little bleached but looks healthy otherwise. 1st one I picked was better color wise but when it was turned over, there was a hole in the foot and I could see the guts so passed.

Also picked up a tiny purple LTA! I believe it is a Malu and not a Crispa.

I'll grab my dslr and take some pix later.

Please post pictures. This thread or your own thread does not mater to me (but may be to ThRoewer)

Here are some quick shots. Too lazy to pull out the tripod, sorry.

The Malu is hiding right now.

The Mag is firmly attached but still sulking. My Picasso has shown no interest in it though. Don't they usually jump right in?

many clowns will wait for their host anemone to settle in, even if it's just initially. It's like they know the etiquette for newly added nems.

Anyone know of a place with purple crispa's that ships? I've been on the hunt for a while but I don't see decent anemones over here on the east coast often.

Purple crispa

Aquatic Connection (the store from the original post) ships, which is why the other purple crispa is acclimating to my anemone QT right now[emoji6].

Also got one of the "mags" like above, which I think is just a purple based green tipped bta. Doesn't act like a mag.

Easy to tell if you get a picture of the mouth.
If Percula or Ocellaris don't just dive right in, it may be a BTA

I've seen lots of mags and BTAs before and these were mags by tentacle shape and count, mouth and overall morphology. That they hide their feet is nothing unheard of - at least for smaller ones that haven't fully settled in yet.

They are referring to Aquatic Collection not Aquatic Connection (which I was told is terrible used to be Aquaconn). Correct me if I'm wrong please.
