Purple LTA - HEALTHY????

I saw a Purple LTA at my local petstore this evening. I am interested, but I'm concern about the anemone's health. When the owner picked it up the tentacles were sticking to his fingers. However, I notice there were little white "things" sticking out from the red base....Do you guys think that it is a healthy specimen?

Please advise....Thanks!

they may have been small cuts.. in this case i wold say no, it is not entirely healthy..

I have a purple LTA who has had a stringy substance coming from the center of the base (it looked like worms in a little ball), and it cleared up after about a week. Also, the nem could have pieces of sand or shell stuck to his base as well. Just another couple of options....

the stuff that looks like little white worms is the guts of the anemone. You see these as well in mushroom corals quite easily if you disturb them. This is typically a bad sign, but is by no means a fatal condition. It is more an indicator of stress or damage, which may repair itself with better care.

This sounds bad. If you can get him to hold it for you for a week or two. I would not buy it like that, unless he live for the next two weeks.
