Would like to see a picture of the underside of the oral disc --- an LTA (( Macrodactyla doreensis )) will have "bumps" (( verrucae )) on the underside --- to make sure but it sure looks like one.

This is what the verrucae look like (( ignore the hole in the bottom of the foot ))

How much flow should be hitting this? Also whats the best food for this guy? Shrimp, silversides, mysis ex...?

Moderate flow/light, tents should be gently moving.
I stopped silvers after a recent bad exp, really, you could never spot feed as long as light is good(and not blazing for LTA's)
Mine PU mysis at feeding time is all, maybe a rare treat of a raw peeled shrimp or scallop once in a blue moon.

Well its now day 6 with the new LTA in the tank. It has moved itself down in to the sand bed deep enough that you can no longer see any of the red foot! It is a little more deflated but it just got done chowing down on some PE Mysis. I just turned my power heads back on and redirected the flow so I'm hoping that I got the right amount of flow around him.

Thanks, here is an updated pitcher of it! It's doing great. I just hope it's getting enough to eat. I don't want to over feed it so I've been target feeding it mysis about once a week.

Just an update, I have now had this LTA for about five months. It has accepted a pair of clowns and tolerates them laying eggs next to it. It had started to fad in color a little but a lighting upgrade from 175w MH to 250 MH has seemed to make it much happier!

Another Update, this guy has really took off in the last two months, Its always large and in charge in the center of the tank. Had to relocate a hammer coral cause it was starting to get overtaken by the LTA. It has really took on a darker color and seems to be very happy.

Beautiful nem, Loglew. One of my LFS's here has a gorgeous lavender LTA I've been drooling over for a few days, & I'd snatch it up if it wasn't so big. btw, love your avatar, too...One of my favorite fish...

Loglew, I noticed you were holding the LTA in your hand without any gloves. I thought anemones would sting you if touched and cause some serious pain. I just got my first LTA 2 days ago and I'm paranoid about getting stung.

LTA/BTA won't hurt you much if at all. It's carpets you need to worry about touching with your bare hands!

But remember to wash after bare handing- before you rub your eyes or go to the bathroom! I always have to repy to threads todd puts his "bunny LTA" in!
