i brought it today along with a pink skunk clown pair, it has stayed where i want it so far, i put a rock under the substrate and buried it with a good depth of sand and it hasnt moved since, it looks well anchored now.

i am just worried that maybe theres too much flow around it, its in a medium/high flow area, i had to reduce my tunze to the most minimum so it wasnt blowing it away, but its still in a considerably high flow.

the flow around the tank seems medium now, which is good as all my corals are lps/softies which prefer medium flow.

the skunks havent seen it yet, which is good, it gives it time to settle down.

it also managed to grab some food at feeding time and ate some, the mouth is tightly closed which from what i read is a good sign of a healthy anemone.

Looks like a very healthy H. crispa from the pic. Very nice. Keep feeding it well and you likely won't be disappointed.

i really dont think its a crispa, its an m. doreensis, the base is orange and then goes to white towards the plate, when i viewed it fully expanded at the lfs it looked exactly like a doreensis.

its only slightly expanded in the picture there, it was also having alot of flow on it causing the tentacles to bunch closer together.

That's ok. It just looked like it from the pic. What you said would explain why it looked like it does. Nice nonetheless.

I would also say a long tentacle anemone. And a very nice looking one at that. Good find!

for some reason the lta has moved into the shade, is it just acclimising? also yesterday its mouth was open, half inside outish, but today it looks closed again from what i can see.

is this normal behaviour for an anemone moved to new surroundings?

it is only half expanded, it hasnt fully expanded, it refused food yesterday, it would grab it, but then after a min or two it would let it go.

tank specs would help;
how old/big, lighting, params.

its mouth was tightly closed today.

i decided to move it a little as it seemed like it was lost, it hasnt moved from where i placed it and seems happy where its put.

its ina 3ft tank with 2 150watt 14k metal halides on it. i am not sure if its entirely necessary to have the second mh on because my tank is a lps softie tank and the other corals dont seem to like being so close to the light.
