So I had been going back over what I have done before this had started happening.
I used a new type of water for to top off the tank and I think that might have done it.. I'm not sure.. Normally I buy the walmart distilled water. I've been using that since the start of this tank.. this time walmart was out and I had no other choice then buy some other type of distilled water... but this kind I dont know where it comes from of it it is made with copper tubing? I'm not sure... so I think that may be the problem.. which is the water..
Hopefully walmart will have some distilled water in tomorrow and i'll start making some new water for a water change..
I didn't use that much of the new water to top off the tank.. maybe 4-6 cups?
Also, something that I had started doing.. I started to dose iodine. about three drops a day..
I directions say 8 drops a day for a 50 gallon tank.. mine is 28.. I took some extra way cause I have a very deep sand bed.. so I dose about three drops a day..
ALSO.. the directions on the iodine says to shake the bottle for adding some.. I failed to do that.. maybe that could cause the problem.
Other then my zoa frag that had the red hair on it I have no issues with my other corals, live stock seems to be happy. it's just the Frogspawn and the Hammer it's happening too..
Alas.. some pictures..
Sorry, they are a little blurry
The Hammers
FrogSpawn
Gratuitous Goby Shot.
Zoas seem to be doing fine..
(Lights just turned on when I took this pic. they were still opening up)
I hope I hope I hope that the person who can test my water is doing better tonight so I can get some results.. being color blind I really can't tell the difference between some of the levels so I need someone else to look for me!
I"ll keep you up to date.. I hope everything pulls though..
a RO/DI unit is going to be my next investment.. just waiting for the check to come in.
PS.. that nem does look bleeched, he's been doing fine though.. I feed him about twice a week (Wednesdays and Saterdays) He'll react quickly to the food but normally eats it once a week.. sometimes I may give him to much though
