Yes, I did the prescribed 4 doses of furan-2. Will try to get a decent photo, but has resisted my efforts so far. Bump is not red at all. Does not look like it is in th skin, but something inside the fish. I may get his of some maracyn-2 and try that next.
I suspect the non-eating fish has less to do with what I am offering versus some underlying problem. Have tried live brine, som pods, frozen brine, mysis, bloodworms, angel/butterfly formulation ...... nada. Lumpy just eats it all.
Best I can do with my crap camera! I think is probably intestinal worms, so currently doing prazi.
And here are the pair, lumpy behind. As u can see, fins still a bit ragged.
I don't really want to do a clam because last time I did that the fish then concluded that my tridacnas were also fair game.

The lump looks the same as the one mine had, same location as well. Didn't seem to bother it, but like posted previously it opened up after starting prazi (week 2 of QT). Forgot to mention I treated with Maracyn-2 after it opened up. Recovered completely then lost due to carpet surf.
Hmm, if clams are a no go, do you have access to black worms? I was thinking about getting some for my rainfordi. Kind of a big committment though, it's like 60 bucks for some worms and the little containers you keep them in.
Also, I'm pretty sure my wife will hate me if I have two containers of live wriggling black worms in the fridge.
What reasons do you think are keeping the second pyramid from eating?

I have had 5 different pyramids. 4 of them had similar lumps that showed up within within a day or two of arrival. All died in the first week despite eating well. I have given up on Pyramids for the moment even though they are #1 on my desired list.
Well, not really sure, other than the general observation that if a fish refuses all foods it may not be that one is not providing the right things, but that there is something amiss with the fish.
I don't see and flukes or spots on any of these fish, so if there is a problem it is internal. Hopefully prazi treatments will help before the fish dies from malnutrition.

Most unfortunate though. Perhaps more than other fish, these need to be collected, handled and shipped well to have a good chance?

I think you hit the nail on the head. I think if they are well collected and healthy when you get them they would be great fish. After saving the one, it was great in my DT and ate like a pig, active and colorful. Shame on me for not having a cover on this tank

Lumpy has died from his/her 'name' unfortunately. Fish ate very well, but the lump continued to get bigger despite various treatments (prazi, furan-2, NGP). I am actually toying with doing a fish autopsy because I think it was probably some kind of alimentary obstruction. Ah, well.

Those look to be pretty good size calore. Beautiful fish!
I'm wondering what the optimal size is to give you the best chance of success? The ones I had were about 4.5". Would smaller fish increase your odds?

Not sure I'm the right one to ask. I have been attempting to get a group through QT without a ton of luck - despite the fact that LA notes these fish as being 'easy'. Started out with eight, figuring I'd lose one or two in the process, but as you can see, down to four. Good news is these four are all piggies and look good so far. I put these into NGP right away for 10 days, and they are now in CP going on almost two weeks.
Fortunately not (already had THAT problem); is just the whiter than white spot on the fish - look at them at night and you can see it big time.
