Quarantine and Divers Den?

I was just wondering how many still quarantine new arrivals from Divers Den, and how many do not quarantine Divers Den fish?

I have been skunked after many attempts to purchase DD fish, but this weekend I decided to pull the trigger on a few fish from DD that I had been on the fence with.

I have purchased many thru LA, but this is my first with DD. I have always quarantined all new arrivals regardless to how healthy they appeared, but after reading the DD quarantine procedures, I wonder how many feel it's still necessary, barring anything obvoius?

I have a large basement sump that I would utilize to house them for a period of time before introduction into my DT.

I have a quarantine tank up and running for when they arrive, but the sump is considerably larger.

I have place several orders for fish from Live Aquaria and i have never quarantineed the fish (probably should). I find their fish to be more healthy than fish from my local fish store. I would think DD would have just as healthy fish as LA.

I have QT'd all of my DD fish for 6 weeks minimum. Only one had any issues at all, a Labout's Fairy Wrasse with a few spots of Ich. Otherwise just precautionary. I still treat them with Prazipro either way.

I QT everything, DD specimens & all. I once bought an Achilles from DD that later displayed symptoms of external parasites (rubbing). I was thankful he was in QT, so I could treat promptly and without endangering my fish in the DT.

I will not stray from my normal quarantine regime then, I was just curious how many, if any, broke protocol with DD fish.

I admit I have broken QT protocol with DD fish, and I assure you, I won't be doing it again. It is without a doubt the best place to get livestock from, but in most cases the fish aren't in the facility long enough for a thorough treatment anyway. I "observed" a two spot tang from DD for a couple weeks a long time ago, and he brought velvet into a 75 reef I had at the time. I reacted quickly and managed to save every fish except the tang, but it was a hard lesson learned. I have a couple of DD fish in QT right now, both exhibited flashing behavior within a day of arriving, no other outward symptoms. Again, I absolutely love DD, but even from the best source the only quarantine you can trust is your own.

I love DD and do feel I get head start with their fish but always still QT for at least 8 weeks(usually longer).
