question about a haddons

I turned up no realy answer with my goole-fu so im turning to the reef central,
Has anyone heard or seen a haddons nem eat a seahair?
Im am having a bit of growth on my sand that i know a seahair
Will knock out but dont want to kill it or my tank because i didn't know the answer....

Haddonis will try to eat anything that is unlucky enough to get caught in their tentacles. I have seen haddonis grab and swallow snails, hermits, urchins and corals.

We're all a bunch of crazies. At least that's what my wife says. But we support each other so come back anytime.

I personally do not use sea hares in my anemone tanks, not for fear of one of my nem's eating them, but more for the fact that if one dies it may foul up the water. Unless you have a huge outbreak of algae -- where you should your water parameters -- my recommendation is to stick to a standaard CUC. If the snails or hermits happen to get eaten, no biggie.

I agree with not keeping seahairs for long term, but i dont know of any other snail that will clean my sandbed top layer, and i dislike hermits due to them killing of snails in search for a new home
