Question about my clowns/anenome

I have had a pair of black saddleback clowns for a while now and I recently introduced a white carpet anenome into my tank.

Firstly will the black saddlebacks host in a carpet anenome?

Second, if they are going to host in the anenome, how long does this typically take to happen?

there is no white carpet anemone sounds like you have a very badly bleached anemone

if the clowns do move in in that state they will kill the anemone just by hosting it.

can you describe better the whire carepet anemone for us?

Soon as I find my camera, which I had yesterday, Ill take a pic. It was in a tank with several very healthy green carpet anenomes. Its slightly lime color but they said it was just white. Looks pretty healthy but Im no anenome expert obviously. LFS said its just a white one, hmm..

Heres a photo of the anenome. Sorry its not as clear as I would like but its the best I could get. Again, at the LFS (whos livestock always seems very healthy) they were selling red, green, and white carpet anenomes. Its not actualy white but a very light lime green/yellow color.

What do you guys think?

it is bleached bad, the foot of the anemone should be red not white for it to be healthy. what are your water parameters and what type of lighting do you have it under?

I picked it up last night so I dont think my lighting/tank has anything to do with it. However its under 6x 48" VHO - 2 atinic 4 10,000k atinic white. Water parameters look great. This is how it came so I guess it may be headed back to the LFS.

I am surprised black saddlebacks did not try to get in the anemone before it was out of the bag. My group never refused any of the 6 hosting anemone species I provided.

I used a siringe to squirt some shrimp on it today but the clowns got to them before it could do anything. Whats the best way to feed it?

Ok I just shot a huge amount of Misis shrimp on it all around its mouth. It didnt do a damn thing. My wifes takin it back to the fish store now.

Hmm, Its got itself into the rockwork and when I tried to remove it, it sucked itself down inside. I dont want to rish injuring it by removing it. Also my clowns are loving it. Any good way to get it out of its hole? Otherwise I guess I just have to stick with it and baby it back to health.

I read somewhere that carpet anemonies come in assorted colors. Have you tried to feed it a tiny (like, 1/4 inch) piece of thawed (as in-no longer frozen) silverside?

Good light, water, and feeding, and that will happen. It's not damaged or diseased it just needs some care.

The only thing I have tried to feed it is Misis shrimp. What is silverside?

try feeding it fresh seafood from your local grocery store. i use fresh scallops, squid, shrimp, salmon. cut them into very small pieces. soak in selcon and feed. silversides you can probably pick up at your LFS they are small silver fish frozen in flat packs.
