Question about splitting anemone

I'm new to this wonderful world and if this question should be posed under the New to the Hobby, just let me know and I'll go there, but I've been reading you guys for several weeks and am confused.

Is it a good or bad thing when the anemone splits? Some folks talk about the anemone splitting when it is stressed so that would make me think it is a bad thing. But other folks sound like they are happy when their's splits.

Just confused and wondering.

Thanks:eek1:

This isn't going to help your confusion, but it happens in both cases.

If the conditions are poor, it will take its remaining energy to split, in hopes that the split will be better able to find suitable conditions.

On the other hand, if conditions are really good, it will have extra energy that it can put towards reproduction -- splitting in this case.

So both reasons for it splitting are valid.

You're welcome, however I don't recall saying that you weren't going crazy. ;)

Back when I had BTAs, I preferred it when they didn't split, they were taking over my tank.
