RA -- Hi My Name Is SkullV -- And I'm an Addict!

SkullV

They Got My Number
Reefers Anonymous, well not so anonymous (not making fun of any real Anonymous groups).

Today I was sitting in my apartment bored, so I figured the only thing I could possibly do was go to Frankie's house and pick up the blue Milli that he has been holding for me. On my way home from his house I always pass by New Fish...well I literally could not get past New Fish without going in and buying some coral. Ended up leaving with a Green w/purple tentacles Tongue Coral.

Anyone else having these issues? Who else is a true reefer addict? Share your stories!

im just like you, i cant stop into a fish store without buying something. The last 3-4 trips it was new fish, i do not want to go to any reef store right now because i should not be buying anything(in between systems).

wow, you do have a problem...not me though....I just fed the seahorses.. the 90 gallon DT, the 55 gallon DT, the three 29 gallon tanks, the 20 gallon baby erectus tank...wait a minute.... I do have a problem don't I????? Sigh....

Not even an issue of buying something once I'm in the store...I couldn't even drive past without going in!!

This hobby has it's share of hoarders too, lol, maybe we could ask about setting up a forum for reef related mental issues that would address addiction, hoarding, and of course crashes, may need a suicide hotline for that last one. I'll need that number on speed dial...................cause ya just never know................

After restarting my tank I am being a lot more particular about the corals I'm putting in my tank. It's actually pretty easy for me NOT to buy anything. I guess I'm the exception....

I decided to get a bigger tank mostly for my moorish idol,i went thru a cras a few months back and am afraid of killing anything else,so now i will only put in frags from fellow reefers tanks.

I have known for a long time that I've been addicted. I thought I had a grip on it till Mothers day.

I went to the INDMAS swap Saturday and for some reason thought it would be a good idea to buy the wife a frag as a mothers day present.... it wasn't.

I drove 100 mile round trip to Aquatica for a MP10 for my frag tank. But I only bought that because I have control over my addiction.

"My buddies Pete and Chad have a bad reef addiction. But not me, I can quit any time I want to..."

(Original author of that is Chad, who's tank is far from nano, and can hardly be called a nubey...)

Dave was my sponsor until he went off the wagon and bought every L.E.D. made! :lolspin:

Pictures of the tongue coral?!?! :-) I myself have one, but it is not multi-colored.... nor has it really grown much. Anyways I am the same way. I find myself going to Exotic Aquatics multiple times a week just to check stuff out. Jeff is always fragging stuff, so he tends to hook it up!

haha im an addict...
im usually a window shopper at the LFS, cant ever bring any frags home :( but lately ive been prefering to go to Local Reefers as i find they have healthier better looking frags/corals and i always show up there with cash :) i give myself a limit say 70 doller's, but ill hide that extra 30 in the wallet incase i see something i cant resist :)

I saw that the other day when I was in there was tempted but was able to say no. I've admitted I have a problem, I got bored at work, found some scraps of glass and built a pico tank for my desk, using scraps/left overs around my office/house. That's also on top of the 20 I'm building and thinking of converting one of my last FW tanks to salt.

Totally went from having 1 salt tank and 1 brackish and 4 fresh to 5 salt and one fresh...oops.

Yes I knew i wasn't the only one. Besides addicting . Which i am 120% this hobby is also evil. I know I'm not the only one out there that has 2 prices for everything he/she buys. One which is a real price. And the other which u share with your spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend. :) (everyone but Badgus;))

I haven't bought a coral from a lfs for in a long time, just local reefers. I do stop in at lfs though, I always feel bad when I leave without buying anything and chattiing with the staff, but what can you do. I don't like paying retail unless I exhaust all other options. Blah blah blah I'm a fish junkie too.
