I think I sent more money in the 3 1/2 years I've been in the hobby than buying myself new clothes I'm still wearing clothes from 3 years ago...LOL

Just about to buy another tank brand new if no one else has a Reef Ready 75g they want to get rid of!! I even went into a petco today just to see if they had any clams I could rescue haha.

:lmao::lmao: me tooo.... i always think of clothes and other valuables in fish money... like uhhm 40$ on shoes.. or 40 dollars on a new fish,,, fish it is...:debi:

I admit I'm hooked, but when I am at the lfs with my wife and i want to buy something I turn around and tell her that I'm buying something because I'm the KING OF MY CASTLE, she tells me I better go shopping at my castle because the lfs is not my castle. Unfortunately there's no lfs in my garage.

Haha, my addiction has been growing lately. Yesterday I spent most of the day driving around to three different local reefers to trade frags. I probably drove 100 miles, but it was worth it.

Then, yesterday night, I had a vivid dream where I was admiring someone's hair. On closer inspection, their hair was actually a large colony of pink lemonade ;)

Did you ask that:D someone to cut you up a small frag?

The 12 steps of reefing

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I wrote these as a joke for a reefclub friend and I thought I would share them in case anyone could relate......

Repeat after me... "I admitted that I am powerless over fish and corals, and that my parameters have become unmanageble" This is step 1

Step 2: Came to believe that an LFS near me can restore me to sanity
Step 3: Made a decision to turn my top-offs and dosing to automated means
Step 4: Took an inventory of all over the top tank purchases and rush modifications that I have made to my tanks, past and present
Step 5: Admitted to my reef club, my spouse, and the LFS owner the exact nature of my parameters
Step 6: Was entirely ready to have them do water changes for me while I went away
Step 7: Humbly asked them not to turn my tank into murky deadness upon my return
Step 8: Made a list of all online reef forums that I stare at obsessively and became willing to include pictures in my posts when I am supposed to
Step 9: Sent direct PM's to those people who I disagree with instead of attacking them and pulling their threds off topic
Step 10: Continued to monitor my parameters and when they were off promptly admitted it
Step 11: Sought through dosing and water changes to improve my color and growth rate and when we needed to frag or change bulbs, promptly carried that out
Step 12: Having had a stable tank as the result of good husbandry, we tried to not screw it up with constant tweaking, and to not make fun of the reef noob as he asks why he cant have 5 tangs in his 55

Feel free to add or improve if you like.......

"My buddies Pete and Chad have a bad reef addiction. But not me, I can quit any time I want to..."

(Original author of that is Chad, who's tank is far from nano, and can hardly be called a nubey...)

I too am not like those others at the meetings I attend. I too can stop whenever I want. And in fact I have been clean ( no hands in tank or body in fish store) for 75 minutes.:lolspin:

Looking at apartments to move into next month and just saw one that was pretty nice. Unfortunately I couldn't take it. I told the realtor there simply was NOT room for a 48" tank where I wanted it to go!
