Tagging a long - i've been thinking about purchasing a unit.

I'm debating on either a Radion XR30w Pro Gen 3 or the Gen 4.. Biggest difference is price, as there are a few Gen 3's for sale for about half the price as the Gen 4...


My only thing, is it worth the extra buck for the Gen 4 for a 24x20x20 SPS Dominate tank?

My iPhone is awful at taking pics of the lighting. I can try to post one tomorrow.

I replaced my G2 with a G4 today and notice a huge difference. The spread and blending was vastly better. There are far less dark areas on my reefer 170 now.

Well as a hydra 52 owner I'll say that I finally got a chance to see the G4 pros in person. They are so much better than the hydras that it's not even a comparison.. it's like comparing a Ford Escort to a BMW.

People who say ecotrchs and aqua limitations are comparable simply are not telling the truth.

Can't say I disagree. I've owned both and they are a different league.

Could somebody tell me how far down they will dim - all the way down to nothing or do they shut down by some percentage materially above 0%.

Just ordered 2 Radion 30W Pro. Right now I'm running 2 Pacific Sun Black Python 160W over the tank.
So exited to see the difference in growth!

Oh, ok. Well being that you have both the Radion and the Mitras, I would be really interested to hear what your opinion is in comparing the two fixtures. Could you give your impression of both units?
