Radion Gen 4 Pro

I've been trying to program the gen 4 radions for a client and I've got to ask. How come EcoSmart live will work on an apple IPad but won't work on an iPhone? It's the exact same apple OSX 10.0.2 operating System. Any thoughts?

I'm on 10.1 Public Beta 4 (I assume because I was up to date and about to go to Beta 5) and it works well.

I don't have a problem running it on my iphone

I heard from Neptune Systems support today that WXM support for all 8 channels of the Radion 4 is out now (via the Apex Controller) and will be out soon for ApexFusion (hopefully today).

If anyone has a Reeflink, could they please post the settings for the Coral Labs AB+ with all the channel intensities? I'd like to copy on WXM/Apex Fusion

OOhhhhh! I'm going to have to dig a bit tomorrow. Unfortunately, one of my G4 Pros stopped working last night, so I logged a ticket. I'm furious that nobody at ETM woke up in the middle of the night to hand deliver a new one :cool:

But really, I'm irritated it broke. I expect it to get handled fairly efficiently.

I'm not certain what the actual intensities are, but this should be a starting point.

Blues, UV, Violet 100%

Red, Green, Cool White, Warm White 24%

If I'm remembering correctly from the last time I connected via USB.

Has anyone been able to confirm this? It doesn't seem to show up for me.

It is only available for the new Apex now, but is expected within a month or so for the Classic. You will need to perform a firmware update before it will work.

So I have a possibly dumb question regarding the difference in PAR between XR30 and XR15, but I'm going to ask it anyways.

As I understood it, an XR15 is essentially just one half of an XR30 and that they should have essentially the same PAR, just the 30 would have wider coverage. But looking at the G4 PAR charts on Ecotech's website, I see that the XR15 maxes out at 151 PAR, whereas the XR30 Pro maxes out at 242 PAR, a significant increase.

So my question is, why the difference if the pucks are the same? Is it simply the difference between one puck vs two pucks blending together? If so, why would anyone buy the XR15 over the XR30? Is the XR15 only designed for non-SPS or extremely shallow tanks?

You get higher PAR because any given spot under the fixture is receiving light from two pucks instead of just one. Some will want the XR15 because they aren't keeping high light species. I could also see somebody buying two XR15s instead of one XR30 since they then can separate the two pucks more widely.

Just got two of the XR15 Pro's - gen 4. Set up with the Rms bracket about 8-9" above tank. Tank is 40W x 18H x 16D.
No Reeflink yet - hooked up the lights via usb to Ecosmart and loaded the Coral Labs AB+ light schedule.
I am unsure of what the intensity setting should be. Started with 50% intensity for now. Any suggestions would help - mainly have SPS and LPS.

I have mine mounted 9". I have mostly have sps with some lps. I started at 35% 50 was too much. Im at 40% right now.

I got 2 G4 XR30 Pro installed on tank with 54 cm tall

lights are 20cm from water, running AB+ program at 70% overall intensity.

disappointing factor is the noise comparing with G3

Anyone using a single XR15W Pro on a 30" X 30" X 24" Cube? Official Ecotech brochure it says good upto 30". I won't be having any SPS on the side of the cube. Mostly Acans or softies if anything on the sides.

How is growth etc with these new Gen4s?

meverha1 how deep are we talking, I have two G4 on a Marineland 250DD which is about 27" tall they are set to AB+ program at 40% which was recommended in the research paper, and it seem that my coral like it so far...

The thing about that single light source is that once the corals grow they'll shade each other and the corals itself will shade inner layers.

Can someone tell me what the inclusion of the red (and much less green) wavelengths do?

Other than for people who want a red (or green) lit tank?

My tank is 30 inches tall, mostly LPS and softies right now with a couple of SPS right at the very top.

I'm currently running the LPS program at 65% and everything seems to be doing OK for the most part, with a couple of exceptions.

1) My Bubble Tip Anemone started near the bottom of the tank but has worked it's way up to the highest rock and stayed there for about a month now.

2) I had a green/white open brain coral near the bottom of the tank that slowly went from neon green to brown on me. I've moved it higher in the tank but suspect it's a goner.

The only real issue is the Anemone and I wonder if increasing the lighting an/or switching programs would cause it to move again.

What are the benefits of choosing G4 Pro rather than the "normal" G4s??
Here in Denmark the Pros cost 144$ more than the G4s.
But why should I spends the extra money?? More watt - is that the main reason??
