Radion mounting?

Is there any other mounting option other than cable suspension?

Do you have brackets that can be installed onto the units and supported off the walls of the tanks?

It'll be a defining factor in my purchase, if there isn't then I will have to differ to another manufacturer. Honestly, I'd much rather the radions but have some constraints to deal with.

There are a number of ways people support the lights. Here is an example of what I use.

Is it purchased that way or is it a home made acrylic box that you slide or drop the units in?

Do you have a build log?

I appreciate any info you can give me on that support, it looks fabulous!

A local guy makes them out of 3/8" acrylic and sells them through a LFS. The lights rest on a clear piece of acrylic, with rectangle cutouts, so that just the outside edges of the light are supported.

No build log, sorry.

What size is your tank?

The downside to EcoTech's rail system is it wants you to mount them with the 7" side facing the front of the tank. I wanted the long side facing the front like you see Rognin's reply. I went to the local hardware store and bought aluminum rails and drilled my own holes and mounted them. I still used the hanging kit.

I saw on another post where someone used the metal electrical conduit and a pipe bender then used some electrical hanging components for the lights. I'm not sure how he mounted them to the tank stand.

Not exactly true, ecotech has many different configurations available. You can have a 2 or a 3 light rail solution from ecotech that mounts the lights in either direction

48" long 55 gal tank.

I'd use two units with the 12" side facing the front of the tank.

The design could be easily scaled down to 48 inches and would be a stronger design. I had some hesitation on the length, as it has a slight bow, but have not noticed any additional sagging.

Cool, I'm in Canada. Do you think he can ship a unit here?

Do you have a contact?

Hrmm with so many handy...er people, I guess Ecotech doesn't need to make different mounting options.

Keep the original mounting systems coming, I like what I see!
