how much for the half green/blue?

Not for sale but will entertain decent offers apparently, hehe.

I to have some pics of that clam but they didnt turn out as contrasted. Ali will not sell that clam, no way.

Right price... who knows I know he said it would let it go for a lot of $$$ to the right buyer. hehe

do you have a picture of the other one floating around, its half black with grey spots and half black with blue lines

He told me had one a few years back but lost it for no known reason. This one has been with him for a month or two I think. Its just mind blowing, but you had better make sure the tank was pest free..

haha...I know he's not going to sell it...at least I wouldn't...I was just curious at to how much a clam like that would go for. I'd figure that clam is rarer than zebra maximas

Just thought I'd post that clamsdirect had a bi-color maxima on their web-site today. It quickly sold for $169.

I was on when that batch got uploaded, and had that one in my cart... but I just couldn't pull the trigger. A beautiful clam, but not color contrasty enough to make it worth it for me. To each their own I suppose!

If you notice, the design is still the same but the color is different.

One of my clams is half gold half light green.

It's because half of it's body was being covered from the lighting so it caused the pigments in the mantle to change in color.

If you notice, the lighter portion is the side that is usually blocked, while the left side is the natural coloration on the clam.

I've noticed this on 2 of my clams, but once you leave them back on direct lighting for a few days to a month the color comes back, but it's still noticebly in a bi-color.

You too can make your bi-color clams.

Try it out!

I wouldn't recommend it, haha it was just a freak accident.
