Rebuilding a 2002

Wow, even the hidden parts are beautifuly finished. Had to rebuild due to salt creep getting into bearings (Roger warned me about the height), raised it about an inch now so it will not happen again. Who carries all the parts, MD only carries bearings and shaft, need felt ring, that nylon washer that fits in top of shaft houseing,shaft houseing (Was cracked at top of expansion slots when purchased and spread when removeing impeller houseing). Hey John, I have pretty much every part to that pump in stock. Unfortunately i leave for Germany on Monday and won't be filling orders again until the 28th. The shaft housing includes the felt but I do have them seperate. I'll work with you on that part seeeing as it was cracked when you got it. As for the nylon washer, if you buy part 4002.25 (I am not positive on part number) it is the rebuild kit and that part and the washer come with the shift and pinion and new housing screws. Marine Depot has that kit. I do also have seperate nylon bushings they come in a 2 pack.

Thanks Roger, bought a back up 2002, replaced the bearing, washed felt, it works fine just fussy. Not a coincedence, Octoberfest ? Will contact you when you get back, have fun.

Well Roger, got the 4002.25 kit today with back up 2002. That white washer was part of the white cam that had worn off, lol. I guess it deflects any splash in shaft houseing from bearing?

Yes, the pinion is designed to shield the bearings, what happens is the felt grows salt crystals and these saw through the pinion. No Oktoberfest for me, working. It has been incredibly hectic. We have so many new products in development and today for example we drove 6 hrs to go to a plastic industry trade show and look at purchasing new machines.
