Red tail tamarin acting funny

He has been just laying on the sand like he's going to die, but it changed within seconds. All chemical levels are good going to have them retested at pizza night tonight. Has anyone seen a wrasse do this normally?

I had a fish do that. the first video looks like he was about to die. the next video he looked fine. My fish did that for 2days ad died the next day . Is it breathing hard?

Doesn't look like she is. This is day 2 of her doing it tested my levels and everything seems to be on point. Can't figure it out.

Red Tails as well as a few other wrasse' do tend to lay on the bottom quite a bit. How long have you had it? They are kind of like a Morish Idol and need to be fed small amounts numerous times throughout the day.

I have been doing once a day, but yesterday I switched up it up and did twice. She has been difficult in that department because she burrows early in the afternoon rather than late at night when the lights go out.

Looks like a I lost her last night . I picked up the TDS meter anyway and my ro water was reading 002.

Sorry to hear that. I would not believe 002 caused the issue.

That was my thought. Was hoping it read higher just so I had an idea what caused it. But alas I'm left bewildered.

Sorry to hear you lost it. You mentioned that she had been diving into the sand early in the day, some fish just never seem to adjust to the drastic time change between where they were caught and our lighting cycles. I've had similar experiences with a couple of sand diving wrasses.

Yeah, they need to be fed little bits prob at least 5 times a day and if your schedule didn't mesh with his I could see where it could cause some problems. They have a really bad survival rate, I had one about a year and a half ago for over six months then out of the blue just up and died.
