Reef Brite LED's - Now Taking Orders!

I am thinking about replacing the T5's on my softie 150 (which is 30" tall and 48" long). Right now I have 4 x 54w, with two daylight and two actinic. I really like that color more than something on the side of blue. I am thinking about doing three strips. Which ones should I get to keep the color that I like? Would one of each work? Or would that still be more blue?

Why replace them when you can just add them. :) Thats what I did. Even though you mention that you have a softie tank, you can easily cycle your lighting periods between the T5's and RB's. Start with a 50/50 and an all Blue mounted 1 on each side of your T5 fixture angled inward....would look pretty sweet. The 50/50 gives a really nice looking 'sunrise' effect.

I was at a LFS this weekend and they ahd 50/50 reef brites over the tanks and the coral looked really good. I really liked how the coral popped. After reading so much about color not being good under LEDs I was glad to see how good it looked! I think it settles it for me. Reef Brites are in my future and from Premium Aquatics, cant beat the prices.

Fish really pop under the RB blue LED"s as well, I would think it would be a great, albeit expensive option, for a fish only system.

I am more worried about the fish; from what I have read they dont like bright light. Will it be too much for them I guess is my question, not the money.

I have owned my ReefBright mini mag for about 3 months now and absolutley love it. It is on a 30x30x24 and only 7 inches of the water for full coverage. This thing is amazing!!!! can say enough good things, and it really makes the corals pop. would recomend these LEDS to anyone. We have even put it on some of our clients since I have bought it. Thanks Premium!!!!

On my first week of RB only lighting on my 72 gal bow. Had a 48" NEP T5 now have 3 RB, two blue and one white. Going see how it goes (still have the NEP in the garage just incase). I'm really happy with the color and shimmer so far.

UPDATE:

I have 3 RB 48" strips that were added to my T5 set up. I originally had a 4 bulb T5 light canopy and a 2 bulb T5 light canopy. I added a RB Blue strip a little over a month ago....and about 2 weeks ago, I removed the 2 bulb T5 canopy and added a 2nd RB Blue & a 50/50 which now gives me a total of 4-T5's & 3 RB strips over my 90g.

The corals have really responded nicely to the addition of the LED's!! The colors have become deeper on some and the flourecence has really come alive on all my greens, reds, yellows, and oranges during the dusk lighting period when I have only the RB Blue strips running.

Very happy so far with the T5/LED combo on my tank!!

Really nice bro!

I also noticed the colors are become deeper.

Jeremy - I have a 250W Radium over my 40 Breeder frag tank and I was thinking of adding one reefbrite to it. The frag tank is all SPS. Which size/color reefbrite do you recommend?

I would recommend the 36" RB, all blue. It will add more pop the corals in addition to what you're already getting with the Radium.

I have a 60"L - 112G tank. I have 2 - 250mh on icecaps running xm 10k bulbs. I am trying to decide on if I should use RB instead of t5's for my supplemental lighting.

I was thinking to start with 2 RB 48" for supplemental. I was thinking 1 blue and 1 50/50. Would this be enough blue to balance the 10K bulbs?

Later on I would add either a 2nd 50/50 or a 2nd blue.

Thoughts?

Thanks

I would skip on the 50/50 and go with 2 blue. You will be much happier with the coloration you get with the 2 x blues in my opinion.

are they still making the mh/led pendent combo? I was planning on moving to plasma for my next build, but these might sway me, that color pop is simply unreal
