Reef Brite LED's - Now Taking Orders!

Jeremy,
Do the reef brite flexible led strips have the same lights as the fixtures? Can you tell me how the flexible strips compare to the fixtures?
Also, for a 90gal FOWLR with a few shrooms and softies, do you think I could get away with using 1 or 2 of the Reef Brite 48" fixtures? If you think 2 would be best, how would this compare to the new Marineland 48"-60" Reef LED fixture (and are the new Marineland Reef LEDs available now)?

Sorry for all the questions but since my setup is not a full blown SPS system my requirements are a little different.

Hi Jeremy.
Yesterday my 48" said goodbye. I have checked the power supply and that is okay. The moonlight is still functional and I am very satisfied with it:-)
But it seems that the 48 " was build poorly.I have mentioned earlier that the moonlight had higher light output compare to the 48".And now it is broken..:-(
So I dont know what to do.. pay 80 Us dollar to send it to the Us or just throw it in the gar*****...

Best regards Stavanger Norway

Contact ReefBrite and ask them if they could walk you through the steps of opening the fixture up. It could have been a bad connection which was never letting the correct voltage through the fixture = would explain the lower output. Let me know what the say.

The Flex strips are a completely different animal versus what the modules are. The flex strips use very low output LED's, which are only good for moonlights. You would be much better off going with the new Marineland fixture, or possibly and Ecoxotic fixture.

Jeremy, with the brackets how wide the the fixture front to back?

Hi there

I have biocube 29.

I want to add 15" 6 led under the hood... Is it waterproof ?

I want more pop colors. Which is Better 50/50 or all blue?

How much to my door 11741 ?

Pm me

Thanks

I see.. I only want ONE 12" LED 6 to adding onto my PCR.

Hope blues will not be too much in my tank since i m happy with my tank color but just need more pop colors.

50/50 or all blues?

Thanks!
Jake

If you want pop, I'd go with all blue. How much it will change the look thatnyou currently have, really depends on what you are currently running.
I've noticed on another tank have with a 50/50 and all white, I don't much care for the color, no pop at all.

Jeremy,

I have a 6' 150 gallon RR with 2 braces. I have a current outer orbit fixture with 3 150w hqi and 4 96w pc. I would like to replace the 2 front pc's with 1 48" reef brite all blue strip. I want to actually put it in the fixture where the 2 pc's currently are. Is this ok for the reef brite? Will the 48" spread enough for a 72" tank? Are center braces going to block led's? Fixture is 8" above water.

Just let you guys know I measured my 48" all blue by kill-a-watt, it came out as 40W. Which look good to me, I feel like running 24X 3W LED on total 30W is kind of waste, for my case the strip is in open air & it does not get hot just a bit warm, in fact I prefer to drive it even harder (is there a way to do that?).

I have a 48" 6 lamp ATI Powermodule hung over an open top canopy. My tank is only 18" front to back. Will 1 strip mounted to the front of my canopy angled towards the middle of my tank add noticeable shimmer with all lights on? I only have room in front and back to mount these. So maybe 1 in front and 1 in back. I am also looking for more color pop. Or will it only look good when only 2 of the T5 lamps are on for dawn/dusk(usually 2 Blue+)?

sfexplicit, I would recommend doing the all white for the most shimmer in the tank. Personally, I would do 2 x whites, and then go back and change your T5 to be mostly Blue Plus and Fiji Purple to get the fluorescence and coloration that you're after.

Thanks for your input. So you think only 1 will not be enough?

ok i'm jumpin in this looks like fun.

Just bought a ATI Sunpower 8 bulb 60" t-5 unit, and two 48" RB's both BLUE.

Planning on SOMEHOW affixing the RB's to the front and back of the sunpower (wish someone would post how they've done this.)

Bulbs will be
Front -
Blue +
Fiji Purp
AB Special
B+
GE 6500K
B+
Fiji Purp
B+

Run a mixed reef, but trending towards LPS, softies with minimal SPS. 30" of depth.

Any thoughts on how this would look? Or if the bulb combo will work with the RB's?
Thanks

I think that will look good by itself, but I'm not sure how it will look once you mix in RB's? It might be a little too blue. I would say go with the white RB's for punch and shimmer, then mix in more blue thoughout the Sunpower as needed.

Alright here's how I attached my reefbrites to my 6x24 sunpower.

All I did was but a couple of pieces of aluminum at the hardware store and bend them against a 2x4. Then I drilled holes in the ends and bolted the reefbrites on. This way it just rests on top of the sunpower and I didn't have to screw anything into the fixture.
