Reef Brite LED's - Now Taking Orders!

Yes, that's not a problem at all. If it's going to be a lower to medium light reef I'd suggest two strips. If you're going to be doing a higher light reef I'd suggest three strips. Figure each strip you do is going to be equivelant to 2 x T5 lamps.

So something like a blue and white strip along with a 50/50? I've been gone for a few years now and am trying to catch up on the led lights.

I would do the full length strips, instead of the singles. It's less expensive to do full length, plus you'll get more light output.

I agree, I went and looked at my canopy and did some measuring. The full length will be fine. Just so I know are you referring to the original strips or the newer high output strips.

Thanks for the input, one last question. Would one of the mini mag light be good for my fuge section of my sump or would a little 8 in strip be better suited for that role?

Hey Jeremy,

I was thinking about changing from T5's to running all reef brites...... What would you recommend for a 300DD Marinland?

I'm assuming this is a mixed reef? If so I would do 4 x 60" XHO's are a minimum. The big thing at play here is your 36" front to back space. If the coral placement is all within the middle 18" - 20" or so then getting by with three would be fine for you. If you're weighted more towards sps then you may want to go with 5 modules at minimum.

Hi Jeremy,

Mostly chalices with some favias, zoas, palys, montis, candycanes and some bounce shrooms here and there. I'm getting tired of replacing 6 60 inch t5 bulbs every six months........

I think I'd stick with 4 modules still. You could try starting with 3 and see what kind of results you get with it and then add a 4th later if desired though.

Dimmer Availability

Dimmer Availability

Hi Jeremy:

I understand that the dimmer will be available within a few weeks. Will there be a pre-order? Is there any functionality information to share?

Thanks

I don't have a lot of info on it yet, however once we get pricing and a more firm delivery date we will start taking pre-orders for them.

The dimmer is available, I should have pricing and pictures by later today or tomorrow, and then we'll start taking orders.

thats great Jeremy, i really like the Reef Brites XHO with my 2 x250 watt 14k DE halides,They look nicer than the T5 bulbs in my opinion, i use the Actinics,Nicest lights out there other than the VHO Actinics
