Reef Brite LED's - Now Taking Orders!

ReefBrite has a mount they are working on for hobbyists who need to hang these, in which they don't have anything else to mount with. I do not have an eta on this yet though.

Hey Jeremy -

I'm running four T5s over a 50 breeder with mixed SPS/LPS/softies. Would two Reefbrites (one white, one blue) be able to replace the four T5s?

Have you tried a setup with just Reefbrites, one white and one blue? Or just 50/50s? I'm curious about what the color balance looks like.

Thanks!
Larry

is the pendant from reef brite released?

are these a real product, or still in prototype phase?

not trying to derail thread, but the item below does have led's, and its from reef brite.:smokin:

Jeremy,

Did you ever test the par on these? I'm curious to know what the initial lumans are and how the par of these compares to a 250w 12k Reeflux.

Thanks

Looking for dimensional info and availability on your item # RB-MM2-W

Also what's the spread of this light or suggested tank footprint?

Dimensions of this unit are 3 3/16"L x 1 7/8"W x 1"H.

The Mini could be used as a moonlight on a 30" x 30" area if placed high enough. How high above the water surface do you plan on using it?

The footprint of the pendant is 16" x 9", and a total depth of 5". That is without the 15" Reef Brites. You would need to purchase those separately. Also, keep in mind that the production color of the pendant is black, and the led modules are silver.

Thanks,
jeremy

I wanted to try the all-white version on a 3g bowfront FW planted tank, not for moonlight. ;) These are 3W LED's correct?

hmm,

thats a game changer.

led's separate, still not clear what the 15" unit equals to wattage wise. assuming 30W. so you would need 2x 30W units, totalling $430 + cost of the reflector ($159) = $589 total, as shown in the photo.

is this correct?

What about just the brackets to mount on other manf halide reflectors?

@r-balljunkie, each of the led's on the side are going to be double the par output of what an ATI Blue Plus T5 is with reflector. Power consumption on the 15" units is ~12w, multiply that by 2 since there would be two of them.

@GTR, these are 3w LED's, driven to about 2.2w total.

The ReefBrite's have their own "L" brackets that come with them, however the big pendant bracket that is specially to mount from their pendant to their module most likely wouldn't work for other brands.

I have a 90 gallon mix reef tank with 6 54 watt T5 bulbs would you recommend me adding the reef brite led
I have 4 ati blue +, 1 aquaspecial and 1 uvl actinic white

if so which one I was told that too much par will bleach out my corals and I dont want that to happen

thanks in advance

@southstar, we do have the 15" blue in stock right now. I would recommend ordering right away if wanted, as they go fast, however we do have more on the way.

@maddog, these are 3w Cree LED's being driven around 1.5 - 1.6w total.

@bhelne01, I think that 4 modules would replace 6 x 54w T5 tubes. In the next few weeks I'm finally getting my hands on the brackets for the ReefBrite's, and will be putting 2 x blue modules and 2 x blue/whtie modules over a system that is 30" front to back. We'll see how it goes!
