Reef fish stocking - 155g

Curious on peoples thoughts on fish for my 155g gallon tank.

I posted in the reef fish forum...I saw the "recommended" tank size some tangs. I'd love an orangeshoulder or Lieutenant tang. The LiveAquaria suggestion is 180g, which had a similar footprint as my 155, 72"x24". But the consensus on the reeef fish forum was that my tank was too small. Thoughts?

I am thinking...

Wantanbe Angel
Orangeshoulder or Lieutenant tang
Kole tang
3-4 Ignitas Anthias
Pair of percs, false percs or phantom clowns.
Sixline wrasse
Pearly Jawfish

Maybe 1 or 2 small reef fish to fill it our.

Interested in what people think about this stocking list.
 
The lieutenant and orange shoulder get pretty big, i honestly feel 180 is pushing it with them. There's a bunch of tangs that would be a better fit IMO. I'd throw a few more ignitas on there too:)
 
You know...all I want is some friggen tangs with freakin laser beams...why do you have to rain on my parade Brett?

Okay, I'm thinking a couple of yellow tangs and a kole? or a yellow and a kole and a squaretail bristtletooth? Thoughts?
 
I'm in on the laser beam thing! I'd grab one of those white tails at FB if I were you, before they disappear for 2 years again. I love all the bristle tooth tangs, such underrated fish. I think those three would be great though.
 
Out of all the Tangs that I have in my tank, my Kole Tang is the most aggressive. I agree with Brett, I'd go with a small Whitetail and maybe a small Desjardins and a blue Hippo or a Purple Tang. All have great colors and great personalities.
 
Sailfins get huge, the smaller zebrasoma like yellows, purple, black and scopas are all great choices. You also have some of the smaller acanthurus species like convict, lavender and arguably power blue and brown.

If it were me I'd add the tangs last and all at the same time.
 
So I am thinking of adding the anthias and clowns first, then the angel, wrasse and maybe a basslet and/ or goby, then tangs. I don't think I have deep enough substrate for the jawfish.
 
the jawfish will move your sand into a pile and make it deep enough for himself. My BSJ has a pile about 8" deep that he built by bringing sand from the rest of the tank.
 
I am thinking about adding (when the tank is ready):

--Sixline, Clowns, Wantanbei

then

--Anthias

then

--Tangs

After the tangs, I'll decide if I can/ want to add any more fish.
Any problem with that order?

I'll be honest, I'm kinda guessing. It's been awhile since I last added fish to a tank.
 
Aren't sixlines a little aggressive? You may consider:

Anthias & Clowns --- sixline and others --- tangs

I thought six lines were a little aggressive as well and I was very reluctant to add one in my 80g BUT mine has been a model citizen ever since I got him... Even if he turns bad- wrasses are crazy easy to catch with a diy fish trap. Good luck!
 
I thought sixlines were mainly aggressive towards other wrasses?

Sixlines can be aggressive to their own shadows! I guess mine is put in check by my male squareback anthias... He rules the tank
 
For the anthias, could I run into problems if I go with 3? I am looking at squareback or ignitas or carberryi.
