I just visited the store for the first time and was really impressed. The coral tank with the t5's over it is amazing. The best part of all was the incredible customer service and advice provided by Pat and his staff. I have yet to experiance service like this anywhere in miami. Thanks for your advice Pat. I will definately pass by this weekend to check out the new shipment. Hope you have a good time at MACNA.

Thanks,

Brian

I have learned very recently that a store in close proximity to mine is selling zooanthids in minute frags for collosal prices and defends the practice by telling customers that these are what they sell for on e-bay. Gee, teriffic, then sell them on e-bay and quit trying to rape your customer base. Otherwise, they'll become someone else's customer base.

OMG, so funny that you mention that. I am still in shock over what I experienced at another local shop recently. This is a store that I used to frequent fairly often, healthy fish and a good selection of coral, decent prices for the most part. Well, I get there and I am being told that there are a bunch of new zoa frags to look at. There was a couple infront of me at the tank looking at the frags with the employee, so I had to wait my turn. And the conversation goes: "oh, that's expensive, that's "Eye of Rah"..."oh that one is rare, that's "Alien Eyes"..."oh and that one, VERY expensive, that's "Fire and Ice"......

Holy crap, I am thinking, are we on "Ebay live" or what? The couple left and I am starting to ask prices, one of the owners now, who knows me. And sure enough I am being told that they looked up all the zoas on the internet and adjusted the prices accordingly!!! No more "cost times the "x" factor = price" here, it's based on name and color! A frag of blue zoas smaller than my pinky was going for $ 30.00! 3 miniscule polyps! And the "oh, that one is expensive" preceded every price I asked. Meanwhile these where frags JUST made, either of broken off polyps or rocks chopped up. Unbelievable!

I abhor it and don't practice it. I use a simple mathmatical calculation, cost x 2 = price, across the board.

Hey Pat I don't know what store you are referring to, but if it's the same store we were talking about today I wouldn't be surprised. I forgot to tell you that they tried something similar to that with me and my friend as well. He started telling me that they were not here to "%$*&^ people and then proceeded to giving me fancy names with crazy prices. he was like those are "dragon eyes" which BTW they "WEREN'T", and wanted 100.00 for a tiny colony. shame on them

I wouldn't bash another LFS on the internet like you just did. If you were a little more broad in your description it wouldn't be a big deal but when everyone knows who your talking about I think that just makes you look bad. Remember me I am the one with the magical eye that saw what no one else saw at your store. I went to your store last week with a friend and well it just seems to get worse for you. Charma's a B#$&h! Have a nice day.:)

Not true, you did just that when you came to say that you have seen dead fishes and corals in a thread that was clearly to welcome this store opening.

"If you were a little more broad in your description it wouldn't be a big deal but when everyone knows who your talking about I think that just makes you look bad."

Actually, I think that was broad enough, if it wasn't for you and your banner getting out of shape about it , I wouldn't have known what store was pat talking about, thank you for opening my eyes.

"Remember me I am the one with the magical eye that saw what no one else saw at your store."

Far from magical! especially since you are the only one to seem to find this issues.

Ups! Bashing againg?

You know, I'm kind of glad that the tard chimed in. When I first started the hobby, I bought all of my corals, drygoods, and half my saltwater from Coral Seas Pets. I bought 75 % of my fish, half of my saltwater, and 20% of my live rock from Exotic Aquatic. Ibought the rest of my live rock and fish, plus all of my inverts from Reef Life. I figured that, this time, I'd check out some of the other stores. After reading what's been said (and the clues from ding-a-ling-dong), I know one store to skip!

Wait.... I'll skip it unless I want to buy the Jackass 2 Tang, which costs 700 dollars and will leap into my overflow whenever a camera is nearby.....

Well since I'm the jackazz around here I will put some words in as well. For one... Charma... I don't know what the hell that is, maybe your referring to Karma is a b****. And I don't see anything that has to do with Karma in this thread.

WHY THE H3LL WOULD YOU GO TO THE SAME PLACE YOU JUST PUT DOWN IN A FEW POSTS UP??? Go to Reefs Edge, I have gone there and the price seems a little high for a single cinnamon polyp, green or brown. Oops, bashing again.

I've gone to a few LFS and from what I've seen are really horrible compared to Reef Life. Some of the places I 1st went to looked great, but then everytime I came back it turned me off to them. Why because I know what to look for when I walk into a LFS. I now know what is dirty and clean. The stuff I've seen at Reef Life is really clean, all the holding tanks spotless. I have yet to see a dead fish or coral.

Another thing, I have a few LFS that are my favorite... some because of the PEOPLE, others because of the stuff they carry, etc. BUT I don't go around whoring it out in stupid places. Now grow up... and I'm the jackasz. lol

Hey DingDong, the store Zoos (Felix) is talking about isn't the store you're talking about and it too is in close proximity to us. It just shows that more than one store practices this form of gouge.

As for the.........

I couldn't have been more broad in my description, I named no names, streets, or cities. And why would you even want to get near a store that has all those fish diseases, and redbugs , montipora eating nudibranchs, outrageous prices, and oh yeah the plague. I figured I'd give you a good start for your next fairy tale.

It was you who drew the line and pointed it to your new BFFL not me. I intentionally did not reference any names because that would be bashing. I bit my lip when you first posted about my store but now I see you for what you are. You blatently lied about the conditions in my store to attempt to promote the other store who's name I still don't mention, who's owner tells customers he hears we have a lot of dead fish "Do you think they have a problem?" he tells one of my customers. Hmm... where could he have heard that from, not from the guy who doesn't bash other stores, not from you, oh no not DingDong for he is forthright and righteous. Since it is clear you were having a problem with your short term memory the day you came to my store, could it be possible you could forget my address too? Othewise, the next time you're in please make yourself known to me, so I can assist you personally.

I hope you realize that in your defense of your new BFFL it was you who let the cat out of the bag. Yes karma certainly does know what it is doing!

Well just my .02 cents but I happen to enjoy going to ReefLife. Pat and the staff are always friendly and willing to help. I was there yesterday evening and will be there again tonight (for those acros =). I have been going there since I started out in the hobby and actually have gotten a fair majority of my livestock from them. It is also so much better now that they have moved closer to my house now I can just pop in whenever. ReefLife is a great store in my opinion and I like the layout of the new store alot.
