Reefapalooza NY worth it?

We are thinking of going to Reefapalooza this year in NY. we have never been to a show before this big, just local frag swaps. We are going to MACNA in Vegas this year also. We just want to know if its worth it to get a hotel for the weekend plus the show passes or just wait until MACNA

I've gone to the Orlando one the last 2 years. In my opinion the only benefit is the variety from different vendors. Prices are not going to be any cheaper than in store.

There certainly will be a much better selection of corals at RAP than MACNA, more speakers at MACNA.

The last time I went to the NY-NJ show it took about an hour to walk through and see all the tables. There were maybe ten booths selling livestock. I found some great deals on frags the second day as well as tank raised fish. The raffle was great. I would recommend checking out hotels in NJ where the event takes place. You could save a lot of money from NY hotel pricing and have more $ to buy frags.

If you are looking for tanks, bring a truck and a dolly, you can buy the tanks lights and other equipment after the show. They usually ,m don't advertised that they are for sale but most do. Sometimes I go one day to save on money, but I can drive so I do not need a room.

I just went to the one in Orlando. I thought it was great. HIGHLY suggest getting the early admission pass and paying the $100. I went Friday when many were setting up and again 1st thing Saturday and was done shopping before it opened to everyone else. First dibs on everything...including this incredible 1 of a kind micromusa. Certainly would have been gone otherwise.

You know... that is some great advice!! Personally, I am not in the market right now, but the cost of taking that stuff with them (especially if from another state) just wouldn't be worth it to them. 2 thumbs to you for pointing that out!
