Reefbreeders/(Evergrow OEM) Fixtures D120/IT20** series

I was going with the 2080 on my new 50g sps tank. I currently own one of their smaller units. Almost went with the 4 bulb powermodule/led combo but at the last minute, went with my original idea of the 2080.

I believe that the ebay fixture has no heat sink and three fans. The reefbreeders fixture has two fans and a heat sink. The lighting is different but very similar. You can compare the two by going to the ebay and reefbreeder websites. The reefbreeder fixture is square shaped while the ebay fixture is tapered along the bottom. This may make a difference if you wish to set the fixture on top of a canopy with a cutout. Also, the reefbreeders fixture has a two year warrantee and the ebay fixture has a one year warrantee.

I messaged ''topledseller'' from flebay about the 1s that look identical to rb's and asked if they were ''china evergrow'' and they responded ''to be honest they are'' like it was a bad thing...lol so im guessing they are old layout overstock...they also told me i could change out led's/optics without voiding the 1 yr.warranty...but i like the fact that i can talk to logan on the phone plus he offers a 2 yr.warranty and custom layout for $40 more for value fixture that is...

I'm just looking at buying one of the Photon32, as I prefer the led's there using compared to the standard Evergrow layout. Is there a layout anywhere, of where each colour led are on the unit.

Thanks James

To the best of my knowledge, Reefbreeders is the only one with the layout of their LEDs on their website. They can be customized for a small charge. Lenses can also be changed easily.

Thanks for that, their is a link on the bottom of the Photon32 page which say click here to download layout, but it doesn't do anything.

Thanks James

I couldn't open it either. There is obviously a problem with the website. Call Reefbreeders. They are very cooperative and I am sure it will be remedied.

When you speak to Logan, ask him about optics. He may recommend 120 degree optics on the red and other LEDs to improve appearance.

I asked Logan about this when I purchased my photon32 and was told that the reds and moonlights come with 120 optics on the standard layout.

Hi...so has anyone gone with a 4:1 (blues to white) layout yet on an Evergrow? Reading all the threads on lighting and getting ready to order a couple of IT2080s. Just curious who if anyone has gone this route so I can put my final config together.

Thanks!
Stacy

I thought that I seen a update to the sunrise/sunset spreadsheet for an 8 hr cycle but cant seem to find it anyone know where it is? Thanks

Reefer freak,
So I have a spreadsheet that is for a lighting cycle that is a sine curve as a natural sunrise/sunset follows a sine curve. I got it somewhere here on RC but can't find it so I will try to upload it for you guys. It is not what I use, but if you want it to be as natural as possible it is the best schedule to use. You just put in what you want your max intensity to be for each channel and it tells you how to program your light cycle to mimic the suns sine curve. Hope it helps.

Thanks mixedreefjunky I think I have that one, I thought I seen one on here that had a 8 hour cycle tho, the 12 hr cycle seems to be giving me a cyano outbreak with my blues at 35% and whites at 15% but I'm coming from a inadequate 2 t5 bulb fixture just thought I would try something else

Hey I have a 72x18x28 150gal which like fixtures would you recommend. I was thinking 1 value fixture on each side and a controllable in the middle... Any thoughts.

As same as the 1st post in this topic, you can go 2 photon 32. will be perfect for your tank

Three 16s would work well also. That is what I have and I am very pleased. Not much difference in price either and if one goes bad you will still have some light or you can rotate fixtures until repairs are completed.
