Regal Angel Primer

You sir are correct. I haven't seen your success stories on a leopard wrasse but 90% of the ones I have seen and talked to say the best bet is to roll the dice and go straight into the tank with the LW. I have tried to QT them before and they just do not make it.

Well, don't tell anyone, but all 3 of my leopards first went into my sump (full of pods and a sand bed) for a few days, then into my DT (containing 70+ other fish and freshly added pods) and all are still doing very well for close to a year!... There are a couple of fish, that I just can't 'trust' in QT and the 'sump/acclimation box/DT' routine has worked well for me.

It's been 2 months since I got Regal Angel. It's been doing great! Eats anything I throw in my tank lol

I bet you're wishing she'd start snacking on those mushrooms too ;)

So I've gone thru cupramine and nitrofuracin green. Now, I've let him fatten up a little and was thinking about prazi. Do I just dose it in the water as direction states? How many rounds of treatment do u guys think? Is this gonna help with internal worms at all? He gets stringy poop every now n then.

My Yellow Belly Regal finally ate some baby clam on half shell today after almost 4 weeks of not eating (3 at lfs and 1 with me). He had only been picking at my rocks in the QT set-up I currently have him in but wouldn't touch any of the different kinds of foods I put in.

Ok fellas I need some advice. I have ordered a Small Red Sea Regal Angel and it should be here in the next few hours. My question- should I QT or not? I have a 20 long dedicated QT tank with PVC that has been running for 6-7 months or should I take the chance and put him into my system. I keep going back and forth on what I should do but I feel going straight into my tank would help him adjust the quickest.

No question about it... Quarantine. Throw some live rock in there if u feel like it gives him somethin to graze on. But this fish needs to get eating without competition. Not to mention, observation for disease.

My angel acclimation and QT
Drip for a half an hour, then place fish in another bucket with Prazipro double strength for an hour, freshwater dip for 1 second to 10/15 minutes. On the freshwater dip I have had a flame angel go ballistic so I removed him quickly and I had the regal in my earlier post that swam around for 20 minutes like he was a freshwater fish? And then they go into a QT tank with some liverock, a foam filter, and Prazipro normal strength. Some claim Prazipro hinders appetite, I have not had that issue. I do not use copper. Good luck with your fish. Oh yea I almost forgot, do not use a net. Use a plastic container of some sort

regis jr is out of a 6-week quarantine and prophylactic treatment and enjoying the good life in one of the displays with his wrasse and anthias buddies now! he wasn't eating at all when i got him but after two weeks transitioned him off of sponge and clam/mussels to PE mysis (he seems to prefer bigger pieces than that found in hikari) and hikari spirulina brine and black worms.

beautiful fish and huge value add to my tank in terms of aesthetics and movement. i have a few more in quarantine including a juvenile sumatra gray chest that is just starting to peck at mysis free floating and a smaller yellow belly i got from another member on R 2 R that is eating very nicely and will likely go in the frag show-tank or be put into the 265 display downstairs.

here are two others out of prophylactic treatment and qt successfully now in a tank off my main reef system just getting more fat and happy. i've had good luck with LRS reef and fish frenzy, shaved scallops, aqua treatsure mysis, and hikari spirulina brine thus far.

Here's mine !! Already eating dry foods in the LFS. Couldn't be happier. Have him in the sump till lights in the tank go out

I'm about to add a fourth regal to my 180. Keep u guys posted how it goes.

Interesting. I'm new to keeping multiples in the same tank, but I notice many people do it. Do you have any issues with 3 in a tank that size? Do you use an acclimation box upon introduction?
