I was finally able to get some spirulina brine shrimp. The regal didn't devour it but this is the best I've seen him eat from the water column. Very encouraged.

He's about 5-6 inches I've had him for about 7-8 months now he's a great eater

So I went to pick my Regals up. I was apprehensive to say the least but was quietly confident after the videos sent to me.
On arrival I wasn't surprised to see six YBR all around the same size 2.5 to 2.75 inch. All looked healthy and active. All the fish were fed as soon as I arrived, I watched eagle eyed and was pleased to see them all feeding. The two saved for me were still tolerating each other but sadly the slightly larger of the two wasn't going for food as aggressively as the smaller one.
I decided to leave the larger on, from the remaining ones I took the next best feeder. I was told it was the shyest one they had and took the longest to settle. From my observations it was more shy, staying behind the rocks but kept eating till all the food was gone, it also had the biggest belly on him. I was happy with it so bought it back with me ....with a few other fish.
They were acclimatised slowly together. It gave me a chance to see how they'd react with each other; obviously there was the customary tail shaking but nothing vicious. I took the plunge and added both to my DT - nothing else in my DT so helped my decision.
They've now been in for 8 days.
Day 1. They slowly started coming out, in the evening they both fed on Frozen mysis.
Day 2. Smaller of the two is more adventurous and coming out more often
Day 3. Both out more regularly grazing
Day 4. Both out constantly still feeding. Larger one more dominant but no chasing unless lights going off
Day 5: fish added - didnt seem to bother the Regals
Day 6 and 7: both feeding well, chasing food out the water column and waiting at the surface every time I walk pass the tank

Hey everyone. I'm taking advantage of the sale that LA has on regals and wanted to get a bit of advice.
This will be my 3rd Regal, first one I ended rehoming to another reefer(dumb decision), 2nd I lost after a tank move.
I have always added these directly to the display in the past with good results, but this time around I have more boisterous tankmates than in the past. This will be a juvi Regal and he will share a 180 with a yellow tang and, Majestic Angel and a Tomini Tang.
The plan was to add the regal in an acclimation box for about 24 hours to watch how the other fish react to the new addition and if there didn't appear to be any aggression I would release. There is obviously going to be much more LR to feed on than in my QT tank (this tank has been established for about 3 years) so this seemed to give him a better chance if he didn't eat right away.
Thoughts on this plan?

I ordered mine from LA as well. He came in great shape and now eats well but was very timid at first. Even being the only fish in qt he spent most of the time in the pvc. It took him almost a week to eat out of the water column. He ate clams on the half shell and angel formula. He will either learn how to do that from your other fish or not get a chance to eat.
After losing my whole tank to ich or velvet I will never not qt again. I would at least do a dip first to make sure no flukes come off of him and save a headache down the road.

Yes, always quarantine!
Regal Angels are not special in this regard. The QT can be set up to accommodate a Regal Angels needs, but you always want to make sure you don't introduce anything bad to your DT.
I've had my share on Regal Angels (3 in Germany, 9 in the US) and have done it both ways - no quarantine and quarantine - and the survival rate was always the same.
A Regal that doesn't do well in QT is not likely to do much better in the DT, especially if there is fierce competition.
What may be helpful is to quarantine a new Regal Angel with a few other, smaller fish.

Pacific usually go for less than Indian Ocean specimen.
I do not see a conflict with a Regal and more corals. My 5 Regals don't show any interest in SPS and also not too much in LPS.

Just noticed one eye on my regal is cloudy. He has been in quarantine for 2 weeks. He is eating very well. He went straight to qt. no dips or mess. What should I do?

Could be due to an injury - I've had success with a mild case of popeye by using epsom salts (USP Grade, no additives), which is just magnesium sulphate.
Keep an eye on it (pun noted, but not really intended) in case a bacterial infection develops . . .
