Reminder - Wed January 24th

Thanks for having us. Wish we could have gone for the eats but it was getting past Grace's bedtime.
I was hoping Grace would start bugging her mother about getting the tank up and running, but now for some reason she wants braces and a boyfriend.

the stuff inside the tank looked great -- i wont comment on the tank

lonnie one thing that i didnt like is that you had you tank ran dirrectly into you ro/di (via auto top -off)

I'm not sure I understand?

The ro/di unit is hooked to a 7 gallon storage container that sits above the sump. Then when the sump gets low a Float turns the pump on that sends water from the container to the Kalk reactor (Very slowly) then in the sump were the water enters from the tank.

No there is a float valve also on the 7 gallon storage container.
I think I use about 5-7 gallons a day on top off so how ever long it takes my RO unit to fill the container back up, after it tops my tank off is how long it runs.

Next time I will have to have Rich buy more beer

I agree!

Yes we see now, Jealousy runs very deep doesn't it?? It's ok farmer you can admit it was a really nice looking tank. No one will make fun of you. ;)

And thanks again Grace's Dad for the Bit. And by the way your lil one was the cutest darn thing there! (but now for some reason she wants braces and a boyfriend). Yes just wait till the day comes when she wants the keys to the car!!

Had a fun time and enjoyed meeting everyone (But not that really old guy.....Why is it that really old people always smell funny)??????????

What is wrong with having the ro/di line ran directly to a sump via float valve?

I think the thought there is, Float Switches are prone to fail / stick open. Which means your RO/DI unit will run none stop and can overflow the system.

But that is just a guess. Never know what Farmer is truly thinking.

That is the whole reason I only run a 7 gallon bucket for top off, and it is only really about 5.5 gallons when full to the float valve. This way if the float switch in the sump ever sticks for any reason it will only put around 5.5 gallons back to the tank.

There is a maxijet 900 that pumps the water to the tank, and they usually will get to hot out of water and shut off till you unplug them and let them cool.

My float switch in the sump also has a back up float switch in case it was to stick it would have a 2nd chance to kill power to the top off before it added the 5 gallons to the tank.
