Did you notice your corals appearing more of a pastel color after using the acropower? After three weeks my corals were glowing and they've seemed to lose color over time. And all I'm really doing is water changes weekly.

What I saw was some tissue loss around encrusted base, where the growth was the newest. This is a sign I recognize as high nutrients in my tank and tests confirmed it. I do not solely credit acropower for this, but I do believe it played a part in my nitrates rising.

They key is to realize there is a problem and correct it before it dies, not always easy. What are your parameters, unless something got way off that birdsnest is really tolerable of less then ideal quality.
 
Its a holding tank right now till.my new tank finishes cycling...this wait is killing me lol I think my nitrates went up fast after I took the chemipure elite out for vitamin c dosing for the zoas missed my water change and boom. Funny thing is my other Sps are fine...once this new tank is finished I'll be ready to try again. I really planned this tank out this time
 
Sahin, Big E stopped over this weekend, perhaps by him just being there the corals colored up a bit for me and I am now willing to accept a bit high PO4 numbers

When you went upstairs I performed by patented witch doctor coral chant and then Paul and I did a watusi dance around your tank to summon the Color Gods and bless your aquarium.:bounce1:

Please remotely perform this chant with my tank in mind. I'm sure the long distance between you and my tank wont matter. Many thanks. :lol:

It starts around the 1:37 minute mark. Watch it till the end as the last few moves are what will make your corals really pop with color.

Please sir, I kindly request that you perform this on my behalf for the sake of my tank.

My family already think I have lost the plot with all this "fish stuff"...if they catch me doing that I will surely be carted off to the mental hospital...:lol:
 
I wish this was a April Fools day joke, but unfortunately it is not. I have a biblical plague of red bugs:



They are on multiple colonies.

I am currently in the process of murdering them with Sentinel. Updated pictures to come.
 
Try checking with Than over at TG. I want to say he had a red bug problem a year or two ago and was treating with an aggressive medication that seemed to work. Cant remember the name off the top of my head.

Are your pipefish eating any?

Sentinel will take them all out, no doubt about that. Going to do 2 more doses 3 days apart.

The pipefish has not eaten any that I have seen.

I will now be doing a 25% water change and running carbon.

I used the 23mg Sentinel pill.

I will repeat this process again in 3 to 4 days.
