rigleautomotive's Tank Pics Thread

thanks Dan. I think my plan right now is to sell his clothes as he grows out of them.. i should have the cash for the nice macro lens by the time he is kindergarden

Yea bud,I would hang onto those clothes for a bit considering the second kid is usually not far behind, planned or not :) Some good fortune will find its way to you I am sure.

wow, i hope mine growth to that size...

beautiful piece, and nice shot...

Thanks. It is a weed at this point and really adding mass. Not all grow at this pace for me but this one really likes the real estate it lives in and the parameters I assume. The Red Planet is running a close second for the fastest acro in the DT but the PB still has it beat.

Just wanted to add I have really enjoyed this thread. Your camera skills have come along way since the beginning of the thread. It is truly one of the most amazing tanks I have ever seen.

Question: I personally have had issue with keeping large sacrophytons with sps. Are you running carbon and if so what type ?

And lastly, you have many images of the Pearlberry is that your favorite within the group?

Thank you,Its been a very slow learning curve with the camera.I still see tons of room for improvement and tend to find every tiny imperfection in my photos.

Yes I run carbon, nothing fancy,3 or 4 cups of marineland black diamond ran passively in the sump.I constantly battle the damage done by leathers and other non-user friendly softies.I spent 3 hours yesterday tearing out one corner of the tank to mine out actinio discus that came in as a hitchhiker and over time reproduced to epic proportions overtaking the bases of a few prized acropora colonies. The week before I tore the opposite end out to remove some rhodactis(pic below) that took that area over. They are just too pretty to get rid of.I just cannot get rid of these few softies and really like the mixed reef look better then an all sps tank so personally the pruning and placing rock in between less aggressive corals and softies is just part of the regular maintenance.

The perlberry has been my favorite with its great color and robust growth. It has grown from a frag to large colony faster then any other ORA coral I have.It is also in prime real estate and very photogenic so the pics usually look the best from each session and get used most often.
