On a more serious note (project hint hint) what type system are you planning to run on yours??

Robb is running a zeovit system?? Are you as well?? Don't see you having nay zeovit reactor around so not sure??

:p

At this point I am contemplating the zeovit, but I want to research it a little more once things settle down with my build. Definately interested in it. Maybe I will wait and see once Rob gets his up and running.

Ouch! You guys are too much!

Tim, you and Ed have put the heat on me now. I must say, I am a bit jealous of you guys! :eek1: with these beautiful reef displays.

On the other hand, I have to comment on Tim's work on the light rails. They are flawless.

Saturday Tim's system will be up and kicking! (Finally!) Does this mean there is no more work for me on this outrageous project! I wouldn't bank on it just yet :D

Final Light Assembly

Final Light Assembly

Here are some shots of the light and tank in place with all wiring completed. Thankfully since adding the rails, the light is now positioned central as opposed to previously being forward a few inches. The intensity of the light is now tolerable when seated on the sofas.

Was originally thinking stainless panels secured flush with the glass, however, my wife wants to add some colour to the decor so I may end up painting some aluminum panels. Or I may do something completely different, not sure yet. I want it to be sleek, thats all I know as of now.

Some stain or back colored glass will look really sleek and adds color to your hall as well !!

That light rail is very impressive! You will certainly enjoy the ability to move it when you are working on the tank!

Why not anodize some aluminum? That way she will get the color and you will get the sleek look.

I would definitely dynamat the panels if you do go metal. Even the slightest pump vibration will cause the panels to resonate and be very annoying.

where did you get those rails.they are perfect.i need a set
Those are custom made. Tim (owner of this build) runs a full machine shop, where they were wire cut/CNC machined. They are made of high grade aluminum.
