The aquascape looks very cool. Nice job.

Thanks Mcliffy, it took more than two weeks of fine tuning but finally it came together.

Pic of tank being filled, and you can see the flow coming from the return.

A few rimless shots. The tank is getting very good flow with the closed loop.

Love the rock work.... Oh my.... i see Sfiligoi T-5.... :(

Steve, the 12x54w really pumps light! I couldnt believe when I first fired it up, I actually thought it was too bright. It is perfect now that the water and rock are in. Can't wait to the corals under it.:)

Great work on the scape Tim - are u going BB or there will be sand later??

Hey Ed, glad you like it. I am going to start the tank as a BB but wont rule out going to sand down the road. Will decide as the tank matures once stocked.

Glad you went BB on this, Tim. Im debating going BB on my tank, so I'll use yours to see if I get tired of it LOL. It just seems so much more clean and crisp. Looking awesome. Do you have check valves for that return? It looks like it could siphon out a good 80 gallons if the power cuts out.

I agree that the BB is way more slick! Not to mention how much easier it is to keep clean, and the crazy flow you can have!

As far as the check valves, No. There is a small breather hole in the top of 90 degree elbows that you can not see. We have already checked it works, so no issue.

Hey Joe, I am definately impressed with the water circulation I am getting by having the ability to direct the flow right off the bottom of the tank. It is giving me lots of turn over for all the SPS I plan on keeping.

I really like your scape Tim (and Rob :D). I especially like the towers in the back. I plan on doing something similar, only I couldn't find Tonga shelf so I'm going to have to use something else.

BTW, are your rocks on the glass or are they propped up on acrylic rods? You know, the pressure point thing...

Paul, Not much rock is touching the glass. Tim has tweaked the scape a little. Pics will be up tomorrow.

Paul, the larger structures in the rear needed to be pinned in the bottoms with acrylic rod just for balance.

Thanks for the info dantimdad, I am going to order some this week.

Checked all water perimeters today and everything is good! Had the rock cooking/curing for the 3 months in bins with weekly water changes.

Ready to start stocking! Tim plans to start adding fish tomorrow. I think he has a few tangs he is looking at.:D

Always an exciting time :) Hate to be debbie downer, but do you have a QT ready? For the first few its not as big of a deal, but down the road you'll want one, take it from someone who lost 13 fish in 3 days....
