ritteri or sebae anemone?

what do you guys suggest for a 75g? im still trying to figure out what anemones to place in my 75g fowlr. ive thought about BTAs but my LFS has a hard time carrying RBTAs, and theyre expensive at 97 dollars for 3-4" ones. he is overpriced on some stuff though :\

i was thinking about a sebae anemone or a ritteri anemone.

would A. polymnus be hosted by either of those anemones above?

i also know someone who will sell 1 A. polymnus clown with a green carpet anemone for 40 bucks plus shipping which shouldnt be much, since its in the same state

Good to go on light.
I'd still keep nem size in mind, no exp on ritteri, but my sebae is at about 22-24".
Takes up alot of coral space.

oh coral space is no prob. i dont plan on doing corals in the tank. would just like to have wrasses and the A. polymnus pair

ive got the flow as in case they need strong flow

If the "green carpet" is a Haddoni, I think you should take that deal. Haddoni and Chrispa are the natural hosts for Saddle Backs. (Mostly Haddoni) For $40 that's a great deal. I wouldn't part with my Haddoni for $40. Especially not with one of my Saddle Backs.

EC, do you have a picture of your haddoni? he just said it was a green carpet and 1 A. polymnus. he said that the female had jumped out of the tank so he is looking for another mate for it, but when i was ready i could go ahead and purchase both anemone and clownfish for 40 plus 25 for shipping

LOL Do I have pics:lol: I have LOTS of pics. Here's a few for ya.

For size comparison, the clown is pushing 5 inches long. The anemone expands to about 16 inches at times.

Here is another green carpet of mine. It is a Gigantea though. These anemones are considered to be much harder to care for than Haddoni's.

wow that looks awesome. you have 3 A. polymnus clownfish? how well do they do with each other? they dont show aggression towards the 3rd one?

i think im down to either the carpet or the h. crispa. the only thing i dont like about the carpet is how they could catch other fish for food and how they just stretch out like that; i like when they have folds

The smallest one (about 4 inches) does get chased from time to time. Nothing violent though. They don't make contact, and there are no torn fins or anything. They usually only chase the little guy at feeding time, when they get a little overly excited. I did have to move them to a 55gl tank of their own, because they were a little to rough on the anemone, and they wanted to fight over it. They get along much better now.

Any large anemone is capable of capturing and eating fish. Here's my Magnifica after eating my Tang.

I believe that ONE OF THE REASONS Haddoni's have such a bad rap is because they are more prone to growing large than some other species.

If you want folds and long tentacles the clowns can hide in, you may want to go with the Chrispa. The carpet does just kinda lay there like a rug. The Chrispa's are harder to care for and harder to find a healthy one, in my opinion.
