RO sink adapter

So, with the new RO unit, I was looking online at different fittings for sink adapters, adn there seem to be a few different kinds. Anybody know what kind I should be getting? (and any pics of what it will look like - I'm not the most DIY inclined - especially when it comes to hardware stuff).

Thanks in advance!

I'd need to look at the plumbing section at Lowes. I'd just hard plumb if I was doing it myself. Will this be going on a sink that isn't used to much? The reason I ask is b/c you'll need an adapter to allow you to screw on a hose. That fitting won't add air like the normal piece that's on your faucet now, ie doesn't flow as nice w/ hose adapter. When I stop by Lowes the next time I'll see what I can come up with. It should probably be by early next week as I need to plumb my RO units in my fish room.

Another thing I noticed is that the unit didn't come w/ a tds meter. I highly recommend getting a dual inline tds meter. It will tell you when you need to change your filters.

I don't remember if it had a DI unit on it as well, but if not definitely add one on.

Benjie,
thanks for the info. Yeah, it will be placed on a sink that I never use. How do I know the difference between an RO chamber and a DI chamber? Will it say on it, or is it a different color or something? I found some good info on melev's reef website for the sink adapter, so I think I know what to look for, but only looking at stuff at the store tonight will tell for sure.

well if you follow the routing.......the last chamber the water goes thru is the di

the ro membrane chamber is the one that is horizontal

So what if it doesn't have DI - is there only one chamber and it's horizontal?

The horizontal chamber is where the membrane resides.

If it's RO only, there are typically only 2 verticle chambers.

i have an extra garden hose to 1/4" adapter.....dont know if that would help....

That's probably what she needs.

Well, I found a pic on a website that looked like what I needed, but it definitely wasn't at Menards or Lowe's. Oy. Then the guy at Menards says I need to know what brand of faucet I have, so I'll have to look before I go again. It really shouldn't be this difficult. But I'll figure it out next week. Thanks everybody for the help - and sorry I'm lame!

lol......such a task.....what i have is for corse thread like a hose......the faucet part will be fine thread....do you have clothes washer close that you could use ?
