Rock / Flower Anemone reproducing (sexually and asexually)

I bought a flower anemone last year, which was apparently fertilized. After being in my tank for a month it released babies.

Here's one settling on a rock.

Here's a better pic of the base / bud location.

Has anyone else here experienced this? I've heard of them spawning, but not budding.

That's really cool! I'm trying to get mine to spawn, fingers crossed that the spring cycle gets me some babies!
Check out this article, he seems to think that the babies also come out of the base, vs. the oral expulsion a lot of people are referencing, but I've never heard of budding or any type of asexual reproduction. Maybe your bud is a baby that was/is snuggled up to the parent's foot?

Good luck on the babies. I have 5 now, but they are too small for me to get a good picture of. That is a good article and Tropicorium has their tank raised Rock Nems for sale now. Here http://www.tropicoriuminc.com/home.php?cat=49

I'm not sure how my bud happened but I don't think it was a separate baby. The sexually produced babies all look different unlike this head that's an identical clone. It also came out well above the foot.

Huh; that's fascinating. There's always something new in this hobby. Gotta love it!
Was is slow/gradual, like LPS splitting, or all of a sudden?

I has been a very slow growth. It is still one anemone with two heads. I guess it doesn't ever have to divide. It could just stay a two headed anemone. I think it would really be awesome if it grew a couple more.

I am interested in reading and seeing just how your Nems have grown since March 2013. I appreciate anything you care to share. Tammy
