Rocks to Reef: My 2 year progression pics...

Not trying to be an a$$ the tank looks great mine is filled now with base rock getting ready to start cycle. My question is how many crashes to this point or did it flow pretty easy from start up? Your tank is an inspiration I would love for mine to look half this good!

Here are a few updated shots taken from my iphone....

No crashes...lol. 3 words advise that was given to me and it seems to be working.... Patience...Patience...Patience. Only bad things happen quickly in this hobby. You can read my build thread that is pic heavy that I need to update but you will get the point.

For starters I waited 45-60 days for my tank to balance (cycle) before I even put lights on...then another 30 days before begining to add corals. Never had an algae/diatom outbreak...ever.

It is a pavona coral (aka cactus / potato chip coral). I have 3 different variations...the bright green on the left smoother skin, one in middle a maroonish hairy one [suppose to be brown but changed color in my tank] & far right corner green hairy one. I find them pretty cool looking.

When are you gonna start fragging some of those acros! Really nice job.

LOL...thanks. Real soon to prevent a war. The top level has really started to grow in nicely now

Very nice progression shots!

Thanks Pork! I enjoy your macro shot you have been posting too. I FINALLY got Photoshop installed and will get back using my SLR soon and will be able to clean up the pics and pull the blue out.

Nice pics, hope my 90g grows in like this.
Thanks! It will I'm sure. Patience is key.

niiiiiiccceeeeeee

THHHHHAAAAAANNNNNKKKKKKSSSSS!

super job! I think I saw a spot for one more frag, make it a good one!

HA! I have about dozen frags that are on my frag racks..fully encrusting the racks as I try to figure out where to place them. The frag swaps are my demon right now...lol

GORGEOUS tank, btw!

Appreciate it!!

When you do start fragging I would love to get some.

Btw Marke & Josh, the corals are doing great. Can't wait to get that strawberry shortcake... Lol

Impressive growth on your sps over time. Once the acros grew out and covered up the coralline on the back glass, your tank started looking awesome.

Great job JC! You are so right. Patience is the key. So many want growth and success now and try all kinds of snake oils which waste time and so much money. Proper lighting, maintenance, chemistry, and Patience does the job.
