Rocks to Reef: My 2 year progression pics...

Nice tank! Just a few years ago everyone was thinking T5s couldnt keep sps! Youre doing it with only 4 bulbs! What combo are you using?

ATI blue + (2)
KZ- Figi Purple / ATI purple plus (alt each time switching out) (1)
KZ New Generation (1)

RB - LED blue (2)
RB - LED 50/50 (1)

Options for nitrate in order of complexity (IMHO):

1. Carbon dosing
2. Macro
3 DSB
4. Carbon dosing plus a nitrate block or possibly some Siporax or similar
5. Biopellets
6. Denitrator
7. Im sure there are others

You're kidding yourself if you think you can do it with waterchanges, at least long term control. Things like regular maintenance of sand and sump, and controlled feeding are good measures, and modest stocking helps. Carbon dosing works for me. I like the tank stocked, and I feed an obscene amount....

Gorgeous :)

I'm looking at a tank full of white rock myself, at this point. Cycle is running, 1st fish probably in a week or so. Love this thread, I'll be happy if I can do a 2 year photo that is anywhere near this nice.

I don't think Jason frequents RC much these days. But I can tell you he no longer has this tank setup. He's running a 300g DD I believe. Hopefully one day he'll post up a build thread.

First AND only SPS packed tank I've ever seen in south Florida in the 11 years I have been living here. Tanks like these are abundant elsewhere in the country, but for some reason that scares me they re rare in FL. Must be something in the water!!!
