personally ive reached a point where i avoid wc if at all possible, not just for the potential risk of internal parasites but if i plan to bred them in the future i want more reliable dev. and this appears to be the case in these rodonyx clowns.

Mine is on its way! I really hope mine gets that much black! guess I need to make sure that one stays the male though lol.

i love it :) its so chunky :) the lips are definetly a nice touch.

someone really needs to mix a rodonyx with a snowflake or picasso. :)

the potential combination will be amazing.

so when your pair start breeding you have an obligation to succeed in raising the fry ;) yours are the closest to breeding.

What is the difference from true percula and onyx...how do you know the difference at my lfs i saw a true percula and all the spots are like the same as the onyx??

Onyx are just a color variation of a True Percula. They will likely be sold as true percula with no mention of the color.

Rod's onyx have a very very dark jet black to them....i've never seen that nice of a black anywhere else...
Also, true percs may indeed look just like a "young" onyx as they have not filled in completely yet...

the trick is to pick a young perc that will develop into a full onyx. :)

its like picking out a young koi that develops into a show winner.

again, rods heavy black with snowflake/picasso pattern. :)

EmbryoGuy:

A local fish store has a pair of jet black percs. Not a hint of orange on them. Any idea what kind they are? Solid black w/ white lines. They want $800 for the pair w/ their host anenome.

why are WC specimens so expensive? is there a restricion on them? the killer crocodile population? man eating great whites in the area? I dont get it

I knew they came from darwin AUS, but I was just wondering why it was so difficult to harvest them from the wild. If there is a rstriction on them that would explain a lot

BBCoach4, I goitta have those jet black percs!!! :D

embryoguy will send you the money for them, but send the clowns to me!

That's just a might steep, even for me.

I've got a great idea... Let all get together and buy them, send them to Rod for breeding and take a piece of owneership in the offspring! That's what the stud/breeding groups do with thoroughbred horses.... Think we could make any money? ;)
