G13 got any in beetween pics and when the third stripe on the female came in was it all at once or started as a white sspot??

It started out as a spot, one on each side, and spread from there. One of mind have it only on one side, but is spreading to the other side, across the top.

my female would be amazing if she developed the third stripe anything besides rods food that might hellp the coloration?

I feed mine mainly Omega One Super Color. Some ORAGlo (they don't eat this much) and Cyclop-eeze. Only rarely frozen Mysis. They really love Cyclop-eeze but this is a tiny powder and not that cheap. My clowns grow very fast and with exceptional color (IMHO).

i feed rods food and frozen cyclopeze and formula 2 flake as a snack i think my coloration is good my clowns are not that old i guess

On my last pic that I posted you can see the white spot that my male showed as the start of the white stripe. That's exactly how the 3rd stripe started to develope on the female.

If you look closely at your fish near the tail where the 3rd stripe is supposed to develope. You can probably already tell if it will develope it's third stripe. I was able to see a lighter orange color right before the tail, it'll be more obviouse once the 3rd stripe starts to develope. I noticed it once I brought them home and sure enough they both have their third stripe. My gf was able to see the lighter color pattern also, so I wasn't going crazy.....lol

Exactly:)

I feed rods, freeze dried cyclopeze, soft pellet spirulina and will soon be feeding Sea Veggies Mixed Sea Veggies Flakes. I also soak food at times with selcon, zoe, vita chem and garlic (Even rods food for even more POW!).

i soak my rods in selcon and extra frozen cyclopeze i do the same with my silversides.

My female definetly has a "lighter area where the third stripe should be so i just pray that one day the lil white spot will develop

she want to be a full onyx just needs her third stripe the black is extended towards the tail and you can see where it is lighter colored

lol.....my male's 3rd stripe was complete before the female even showed a spot of white. I hoped and prayed the white stripe would come and sure enough it did. Glad to hear that I ain't the only one crazy about these fish.

whatever rod does to these things they were blacker when they showed up look at the females dorsal in this pic taken a few hours after aclimation

Bringing some life back into this thread. Here's some growth pics of my Rodonyx pair that I've had for about a month and half. My male is starting to look really nice and the female is coloring up a lot slower. Time will tell if she turns into a full onyx but they're a blast to watch!

wow ,I cant belive this thread is still going.
anyone know where I can get rod's food?

Salty Critter will ship it

This thread made my search for a special clownfish stop in its tracks. I immediately fell in love with the pictures and Rod's fish look so beautiful and healthy! I'm just starting a saltwater tank and I actually emailed Rod a few questions before actually purchasing a pair.

I have to say, GSMguy, the fish in your avatar is absolutely gorgeous!
